Flyguygamer, if it's still black, Blogs doesn't auto set to white unfortunately.

Use colonel_mortis' "black to white text auto-corrector". It's on this page:
    http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/193630-complete-list-of-forum-addons-scripts-apps-etc/

Under "Dark Theme Fixer". It takes any text that's darker than a certain font and makes it white on LTT's website while Dark Theme is enabled.

So if you switch to Day theme, it will disable. If you aren't on LTT Forums, it will disable. It works great and I highly recommend it because it fixes Blog posts and people who Copy/paste text without using "Remove formatting".

Haven't used it. Signing up for it now to try it out.
I think @MyInnerFred uses it. Not sure though. Might be misremembering it.

Very good post, I see your dabbling in Tesla. Give Solar a go right now, trust me. Lots of volatility, learn to read those and you'll be good to go on average volatility stocks. SCTY, SUNE, SPWR, CSIQ, FSLR and others. Bank of America and Citigroup are interesting watches, keep a eye on Ford too.

I use ScottradeELITE for my trading. I might move to TDameritrade for thinkorswim and lvl 2 data.

The egg was a cool read, my eyebrows duly raised at the correct moment, however if 'God 'is a perfect and timeless deity, it would require a perfect and 'sinless' entry into being, being born doesn't factor, much less so being born out of experiencing all of the good and evils of the imperfect man.

If man was indeed corrupted shortly after his inception on this planet, and the whole mechanism of forgiveness and metaphorical 'rebirth' as a new man is necessary in order to enter heaven then I cannot see the egg 'hatching' into a God because not all of is pure, some of it's fabric ended unrighteously and in many cases wholly evil.

If a man is required to accept a saviour and be cleansed of this 'sin' to even be accepted in the presence of 'God' then he cannot in my opinion die imperfect and still serve as a building block to form the perfect being because no matter how well his actions while compiling the lives within the egg are balanced out in terms of good lives for evil, the fact remains that the sum of all parts doesn't wash 100% white without intervention.

I agree with your points about timescale, I suppose if time only exists within it, maybe it is just being rendered like an edited video, all paths chosen and accounted for, just playing out according to the length of the project.

Exactly Askew. Ya know, it's amazing. I've never seen that version of the argument before. That is great.

I actually read something interesting around the time I posted it. It was called "The Egg".

Here is the post on LTT about it: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/140925-the-egg/ (Read it first, if you are interested. Then continue.)

I find that interesting. However, I disagree with part of it by nature. It makes sense at the same time. Ultimately, the only evil we could do in such a universe is to ourselves. Therefore no wrong is ever truly done, because we (Or rather, "I" in this case) have done it to ourselves (Me in this case).

The thing I disagree with is that, as it says, time is not "a thing" outside "The Egg". If that is so, we wouldn't go through reincarnations in a linear path. From outside the egg, everyone would be born and die simultaneously, which means that encounter with "God" can't happen. However, it also means that there would be no reincarnation, in a sense because you need linearity for reincarnation (i.e. I was this person, then I was reborn as this other person.). However, this doesn't break the premise of the story. It only changes how it comes out actually occurring from our perspective.

I really liked it. I suppose I do so because of selfish reasons though. It basically means that, in the end, when all of the split conscious of our being comes together, I will get to experience everything I ever wanted and more (on top of a lot of things I never wanted to experience). All the everything that is our universe that humanity ever knew would be known to us. That would be epic.

Of course then we also have to know the experience of every tragedy and pain, but also every miracle and joy. I just really like it.

That is a very good question. Basically, I have little chunks of time that aren't enough to do anything meaningful, which I dedicate to this.

Also, at work, when I'm stuck at a point in a project, I instead switch to surfing the forum and come back to the project later. That way I come back with a fresh mind. It helps, surprisingly.

If WWIII starts, there will be a draft anyway, so I wouldn't worry about that.
Can you interview at the other two places without committing to anything? That seems like the logical next step.

It's true. Unless you need a car immediately and can get a very low interest rate (which is hard to do). I needed a car to commute to work and school and didn't want to have to worry about breakdowns. Luckily I got a good used car (already lost the depreciation value) and I'll be spending only ~$230 on interest, compared to the $1463 because I'll be paying it off by August (7 months of interest).

That's why you never take a loan out for a car. Its better to buy a used beater till you can actually buy one outright or a used one outright.  Otherwise, its a bad deal because a car never improves in value no matter how special anyone says it is, sure you might get what you paid for it but no one ever takes into account what they spent to keep it up in the calculation, oil, gas, repairs, license fee's, insurance, its a money pit! Then you drive it till it dies, or I do, recycle the parts or sell the carcass  then start again.

I love math (to some extent). Also, MATLAB is just fun to play with in general.

I did this because I was trying to figure out a discrepancy in the interest that the bank had charged for one period, and the whole thing kind of snowballed from there.

Well I'm sure monlist exists partially for some programmers use but might also be there because someone told him to put it there. The feature request by non-IT people with power can also add to this mess, but since they are signing the check it gets added. So I wouldn't blame the programmer for it all.

There are many secret features/functions out on the interwebs that are there for a good reason and an equal amount for a bad reason. Custom apps out in the wild are high in number, custom as in not documented and for one person's use or one company to make their task "easy", not to mention backdoor security in the name of being able to recover something a customer screwed themselves out of due to bad user documentation (passwd db).

    Documentation really.

I don't quite see the gain in your new betterRAID, or are you going to sacrifice drive count/usage for better "chances" of not losing your data? Would be a worthy research study but something tells me its been done but can't find it at the moment.

Have you looked at this? http://www.drobo.com/how-it-works/beyond-raid/
Yet another RAID type, I think it offers flexibility for consumers or an option. I have only used the first gen of their product and can say its slow as butt but does work (for others). We used it for a special type of backup and wrote tens of gigs every night, in one year we killed all four drives and replaced them of course but used consumer level drives. Maybe with enterprise level drives it would of faired better, they have more enterprise solutions now as well.
