  1. I actually found this one and it looks nice! Just not sure what kind of panel it uses. HP's site says NTSC But I will do more digging. https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/hp-15-6-laptop-natural-silver-intel-core-i5-1135g7-1tb-ssd-16gb-ram-windows-10/14960571 I found another that looks quite good too. https://store.hp.com/CanadaStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=12B85UA&opt=ABL&sel=NTB
  2. Hey everyone, My dad's birthday is coming up and I was going to get him a new laptop as his was failing him lately. He loves streaming shows on Netflix / Amazon prime etc, and he keeps a lot of family photos on it. Essentially I'm looking for a laptop with: 15 inch 1080p screen (Preferably not TN) 1TB SSD space At least 8GB ram Decent amount of USB ports No discrete graphics budget is $1300 CAD Thanks for any suggestions.
  3. Hey all, I posted this to troubleshooting but it didn't pick up too much interest, I think because there isn't an inherent issue, but I'll post here incase people have answers / suggestions. I've noticed something recently which kind of confused me about my pc I just built. Essentially, on the first boot of the day, cold booting on my pc takes longer than if I shut it off and try several hours later. Through troubleshooting I noticed that on the first boot the EZ debug led for the CPU on startup takes much longer than on subsequent boots. I've also seen that the bios time in the task manager is around 14 seconds on the first boot, and 9 seconds for later boots. The order of LEDs from top to bottom: CPU / DRAM / VGA / BOOT Drive Videos: First boot: Subsequent boot later (Previously shut down from windows): I recently installed Valorant with their AC if that has anything to do with it. Otherwise, all the apps I have installed are: CSGO with Faceit, Rocket League, LoL, WoW. OW, Sea of thieves, Unigine Valley, discord, steam, epic games launcher, battlenet, Logitech ghub. My concern is that this is abnormal / odd behavior caused by some setting or bug, but otherwise the pc performs great when playing games. I've scoured the bios but I can't find anything I would have changed that suggests a problem. This could even be normal behavior and I'm being stupid, I have just never seen it reported anywhere. Any clarification on this topic would be appreciated. If anyone else with a similar setup can verify the behavior on their own build that would be cool hah. Thanks Notable mentions / Components: Windows 10 64 bit Windows fast startup: Enabled Ryzen 5800x MSI MAG tomahawk WIFI X570 Mobo (On latest chipset driver, bios version - 7C84v14) 32 Gig 3600 Gskill ram Sabrent rocket pcie 4.0 1Tb drive Old 970 Asus Strix (Waiting patiently for 3080 LOL) HX 1000w Corsair
  4. That would be tricky to diagnose I suppose. I guess one thing I could check is on a new day, I could go into bios to see if the time is correct before botting to windows. I'll give that a shot tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion.

  6. Would it be in the boot menu by default?
  7. I purchased a samsung 850 pro and I want to install windows 10 on it. I have a product key and I made an installation media through the dowbloadable program on a usb. What are the next steps?
  8. Instead what I did was download the boot file from the official site for win 10 and put it on a usb and set it up so that I could boot from it following the directions of an employee. I will be using the windows 7 disc I purchased. I deleted everything off of the usb before I used the media tool given on microsofts site, and now it is ready to be booted from. Is that way okay?
  9. How do I install it directly? And can I use my windows 7 key?
  10. I will be installing windows 7 on a new ssd then upgrading to windows 10 using their free upgrade. Anything i should do before I upgrade? (I heard there was something to do with nvidia cards, like uninstalling drivers) but I will be wiping everything when it prompts me to when upgrading.
