I have an offer to sell my current 980Ti for 650USD Though I'm not sure what I'm gonna buy because everything else is overpriced right now, any suggestions on what to do? Should I stick to it or just sell it considering the amount of money? It has 1 year of warranty left.
I think I could borrow a GTX 770 2GB for the time being until GPU prices drop, but we have no indication when it's going to be... I don't want to have a potato GPU for a few months
On a side note, I managed to talk my dad into listing his Sapphire RX 580 8GB Nitro+ for sale because they go for over 700USD here right now He bought it for literally half the price less than two months ago from my friend so I'd say it's a good deal

My advice would be just stick with it. We have no idea when GPU prices will go back down.

Goodness! This time last year I had the opportunity to buy two 980tis for $600 these prices are getting out of hand

Idk, if you want to get a better GPU, sell it. You're probably going to be able to get a 1080 Ti for $650 when GPU prices drop. But on the other hand, the 770 sucks at 1440p, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@PCGuy_5960 Nah, with Polish prices I could upgrade to a 1080 with that money, or add another 150-200$ and buy a 1080Ti... IDK honestly, we have completely no clue when the GPU prices stabilize... On the other hand, I'm sure I'll never be able to get that amount of money for a 980Ti when the prices start to drop
@WhisperingKnickers Please note that while 650$ might seem like a huge amount to you, those GPUs go for around 450-520$ on the used market normally where I live, so you'd have to pay like 1000USD to get two of those The prices don't go up too much for those cards because they're not as good for miners, an RX 580 8GB costs more here at the moment
@Princess Cadence I've got to ask for how long can I borrow the 770 first before making any decisions, do you think next gens are worth the wait or should I invest in Pascal when the prices drop?- Princess Luna and PCGuy_5960

Pascal and the next gen will be fairly close to one another, not as close as the rx400 series and 500 series fiasco but still plenty... the node shrink this time is much less meaningful and these cards as we seen are on their GPU Boost 3.0 limit already when cooling is perfect.
With that said however, you always get something more with the bleeding edge, I still think we will only see it by the end of the year so certainly a lot of time to wait... I don't suppose the Intel HD 630 is sufficient for a few months f down time yes?xD
Regardless, should you be able to wait and don't mind doing it, would be an awesome way to guarantee your latest and greatest for a nice period of time.
I do want to give a note when I stepped up from the old GTX TITAN X Maxwell to the 1080 Ti and now the Xp it was mind blowing, more than noticeable improvements on just about every thing, so getting a 1080 Ti or even a 1070 Ti would certainly feel a good upgrade.

@Morgan MLGman Not worth it then. The 1080 is only 10-15% faster than a 980 Ti, so IMO, it's not worth the hassle. The 980 Ti is still an awesome card
