  1. there probably isnt really anything i can do to fix the router is there?
  2. No it's bad wired through my router. Sorry I didn't explain it very well. My modem has one Ethernet port and I run 2 PC's so I use the router as a switch, and also use the wireless part too. Anything (wired or wireless) that goes through the router is super slow but if I take the router out of the equation and just run one PC with the modem then it's perfect
  3. I pay for 30 Mpbs, and through my router I'm only getting 0.25 Mpbs. But when I direct connect my PC to the modem I'm getting full speed. I've restarted the router multiple times over the last week and it fixes the problem for a few hours then it's back to the same. I have a TP link Archer C50 ac1200 that's only 2 years old. How would I fix that?
  4. I'm working on a friend's surface 2 with Windows 8.1 RT, She recently somehow managed to fill every last byte of storage left on the tiny storage drive in there and she wants it reset. I made a recovery drive from the tablet, copied down her but locker key and went to reset it. My problem is that even when I boot from the freshly made recovery drive and try to reset, it still says please I sent recovery media. I can't figure out why since Its very obvious that the brand new recovery drive is inserted in there. I'm not really sure how to fix it.
  5. Awesome! thank you so much for all the info, now I'm not flying blind.
  6. I'm looking for some good quality earbuds that I will be taking everywhere and wearing multiple hours a day. I've never used anything except the headphones that came with my phone so I know literally nothing. Above all else I need something that's really durable. Any good ideas?
  7. I went to boot on a pc today and it gave me the "no boot device found" message. fearing my hard drive was dead i took it out and plugged it in to another pc and it works just fine. i was able to transfer and backuo my files without any issues. i then thought maybe something was wrong with the laptop itself but it will easily recognize another hard drive. my next thought was some sort of boot file or something? I have a recovery drive and i tried sunning the system file checker with an elevated command promot but windows couldn't finish it. i also tried recovering the os (windows 10) from the hard drive, and that failed at like 24% twice. is my hard drive not fixable somehow?
  8. Im going to be doing alot of photoshop, so im guessing windows 7 professional will be my best guess? I dont plan on it lasting forever but hopefully thatll work for a couple years. Im not sure if ubuntu supports photoshop? I know nothing about it
  9. I just got a second hand Dell Optiplex 980 from a garage sale. it currently has: Processor: i5-650 Ram 8 GB of 1333Mhz ddr3 and a 320 GB HDD (im assuming SATA 2) It doesnt have an OS on it at the moment. I want to put windows on here just because im used to it. I see that it has a vista PK on the side but eww i dont want to do that. Im trying to decide between windows 7 profreeional 64 bit or windows 8 professional 64 bit. Both of those are super cheap at my schools store and i dont want to spend the money on full priced windows. I'm hoping the newer OS's arent too much for this old girl to handle.
  10. What do you mean by unstable? I have a 4790k with windows 10 and it runs just fine to my eyes

  12. I'll give moving the case around and also checking for leaks again and see what comes up
  13. So since there's no liquid on the bottom of the case I should assume it's just extra air?
  14. i just put an 4790k in my system about a month ago, and now my liquid level is about half an inch lower than after i filled and ran it for 24 hours to get rid of all of the air pockets. Also, theres some lines around the reservoir a little above where the liquid is. kind of like it dried up there. I know the 4790k is warmer than my old i5, but ive got 480mm worth of fans to cool it down. where is my water going?
  15. Thanks! I shouldve known that lol
