  1. FYI I had a D15 on my R5 3600 and it was fine, I wouldn't say its overkill especially if you live in a hotter climate. Had to ditch it for my latest build due to ram height constraint

Hey we have the same setup. also a couple days…

Hey buddy, I have no complaints with the monitor, PPI is good on the 24 inch 1080p version and the build quality is amazing for the price. I have no backlight bleeding on mine and play a huge variety of games (RTS, FPS, racing games ect.) Lately I've been playing a lot of singleplayer games but on the MP side there is stuff like Total War Warhammer 2, COD Modern Warfare, Borderlands 3, Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 4 ect.. Let me know what games you're into
  3. It will be over 9000 dollars so over your budget m8
  4. I use Windows Defender and Malwarebytes (free edition). since W10 release. Not had a single problem yet
  5. That game has horrible optimisation as it is and your specs are not doing it any favours. I recently picked up NFS Heat and think it runs better imo, but it does use up a lot of cores.
  6. For the most part, every graphics card will work with any motherboard, especially all the current stuff for sale. In your case, yes the 1660ti will work fine with that board.
  7. I have been selling spare hardware on Facebook, Ebay and Gumtree with great success. £30 here, £50 there and it all adds up in the end! What are the 3TB HDDs btw, spec wise? I might be interested.
  8. Good tips, will do that thanks! One thing I just noticed, looking at some of the installation picture in the DR4 manual, the fan still hangs over the ram? I can't find any "ram clearance" info on their website, because if I have to move the fan up then I might as well go with the DRP4? https://www.bequiet.com/en/cpucooler/1376 manual and datasheet are there.
  9. It will be overclocked so no stock cooler Yeah I am thinking of DR4 as well, the Pro's fan will get in the way of this ram for sure. Thank you I will get ordering!

I was originally planning on going with the D15S however it just doesn't look right. The entire system is mainly black/grey/silver with subtle RGB, so I want to keep the theme going. The only other cooler I can think of is the beQuiet Dark Rock 4 or the Pro version. Do you think those will clear the RAM, as it is quite tall (45mm I believe) ? Thank you
  11. Thank you for both your input, I have compiled bits from both builds and decided to go for the following: PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD - Ryzen 3 2200G 3.5 GHz Quad-Core Processor (£73.16 @ Box Limited) Motherboard: ASRock - Fatal1ty B450 Gaming-ITX/ac Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard (£104.32 @ More Computers) Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory (£63.18 @ Aria PC) Storage: Crucial - MX500 500 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive (£59.99 @ Amazon UK) Case: Fractal Design - Node 304 Mini ITX Tower Case (£71.90 @ More Computers) Power Supply: SeaSonic - FOCUS Gold 450 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply (£60.46 @ Scan.co.uk) Monitor: Asus - VZ249HE 23.8" 1920x1080 60 Hz Monitor (£107.99 @ CCL Computers) Keyboard: Logitech - MK345 Wireless Standard Keyboard With Optical Mouse (£29.98 @ PC World Business) Total: £570.98 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-07-08 22:26 BST+0100 I think the extra £70 over budget is justified for the better looking case/bigger ssd. With 500gb storage they won't need a HDD either.
  12. I like that a lot, and I agree Mini ITX was my initial intention but never quite researched the market to see what good cases are about and what motherboard to go with. As for the monitor, I agree however it would bump the budget by at least another £100 or so, and 24 inch is overkill for them as this PC in all honestly will not see that much use (they have a laptop and an iPad...). Ah yes m.2, totally forgot... haha. Many thanks bud, what other good looking cases are there, just thinking about aesthetics and silent operation in mind as this system will not generate much heat?
  13. Hello LTT, I am building my other half's parents a PC as their AMD Athlon is now a relic in today's world. I have a budget of roughly £500 (although it's not hard capped) and have managed to put together the following: PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD - Ryzen 3 2200G 3.5 GHz Quad-Core Processor (£73.16 @ Box Limited) Motherboard: Asus - PRIME B450M-A Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard (£72.98 @ Box Limited) Memory: Team - Vulcan 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory (£73.69 @ Overclockers.co.uk) Storage: Crucial - MX500 250 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (£37.98 @ Aria PC) Storage: Seagate - Constellation ES.3 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (Purchased For £0.00) Case: Fractal Design - Focus G Mini MicroATX Mini Tower Case (£46.36 @ Aria PC) Power Supply: EVGA - 500 W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply (£43.10 @ CCL Computers) Monitor: AOC - I2481FXH 23.8" 1920x1080 60 Hz Monitor (£117.99 @ Box Limited) Keyboard: Logitech - MK345 Wireless Standard Keyboard With Optical Mouse (£29.98 @ PC World Business) Total: £495.24 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-07-08 19:42 BST+0100 Just wondering if there is anything I can change out for a better component. I am looking for quality items and something powerful enough to do any day-to-day internet browsing, document editing, watching 2k/4k videos without a sweat. it needs to include peripherals of course and I have gone with wireless in this case as they would most likely prefer it. The HDD is priced at 0 as I already have one to give them. I look forward to what improvements you can make :) Sid
  14. I buy a lot of things used, my entire secondary PC has been purchased through forums or ebay, and I've saved quite a few hundred doing that. Buying used does not mean you ll get scammed, but as you said you just need to be careful who you buy from. On ebay I would not buy from people with low amount of sales/rating, and also I expect over 95% rating too. That way it ensures a sale is more likely to go through without any hassle. That said, if you ever get scammed and you pay through Paypal, you will get your money back pretty much instantly once you open up a case. Then paypal will go investigate the seller ect. Let me take a look online and see what I can find for you to give you an example. Edit: For example something like this, not sure what it will bid over to but spec is good: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GS60-6QE-Gaming-Laptop-15-6-GTX-970M-I7-6700HQ-with-2xSSD-8GB-RAM/254235675297?hash=item3b31a08aa1:g:vXMAAOSwO~Jczqv1
  15. If we are talking NEW, then you won't get anything for £400 that will do 40fps on GTA 5, not that I know of anyway. 720p is not a hard res to run though, so perhaps in the used market there will be some Acer/Asus/MSI variants that will have something like a GTX M series card.
  16. Yeah it's a bright red LED, definitely does not go with my purple and black theme haha. I was thinking of going the tape method if I can't find anything else in the BIOS. There is also an annoying orange light too near the Sata connections, but it's small and pretty dim.
  17. How do you go about disabling the Q Code LED on gigabyte boards? My previous Asus board had an option in the BIOS but after spending an hour going through the gigabyte BIOS and the User Manual I can't find anything This is in regards to the Z390 Master Thanks
  18. Hey LTT, I have had a set of 2x8GB Trident Z RGB sticks for over a year now and have decided to upgrade that with another 2x8 kit. I ordered the same model from the same website and the sticks went in and work perfectly. The problem I have is the LEDs on the new sticks seem to be a slightly different shade of colour (regardless of colour but more obvious on certain ones like purple or lime green). The new kit is a tad darker compared to the old, Is this normal? Picture for reference: (it's not as obvious as in person). The left side are the old sticks.
  19. No i am afraid you only have a few hours left to live. RIP PS: Donate the CPU to me pls
  20. Update: The front USB ports on the case seem to work fine... I will try every single rear port today and see if the issue continues on those. If it does, would that mean that the motherboard's rear ports are faulty? As for the USB Hub, sure it is a good idea but since the motherboard is less than a month old, I'd rather get a replacement so it works and then get the hub for ease of access. EDIT 2: Never mind, it is there again, all I had to do is turn up the volume past 50% and I can hear the static popping again... -.-
  21. Hello LTT, I seem to have an issue with my newly built z390 platform. I am using AKG K7XX headphones which plug into a FiiO E10K DAC. That then plugs via USB into my motherboard (usually at the rear ports). The problem I have is in Discord when people talk to me, I can hear a faint static noise coming in the background. It doesn't happen anywhere else but in VOIP programs like Discord, TS3 ect. Now I have tried several ports, tried reinstalling all possible audio drivers and a few other "temp fixes" that I found online without avail. Also what is the DAC port about? Anyone else experience this or should I RMA the board? For the record I had no issues with my Asus Hero X before hand but needed the new mobo due to CPU upgrade. Thank you
  22. Why would I be salty for owning the fastest GPU for gaming? " in fact when properly cooled where clocks don't throttle as hard on the FE cooler it does outperform a 2080 Ti." - Show me proof for this, I call complete BS. As for hardware acceleration yes of course, my argument was specifically at gaming. You mentioned that it games like a 2080ti and that is far from reality.
  23. TITAN V does not outperform a 2080-ti in any games. Not sure where you got that info from.
  24. Here is another part of that response: "So long story short I tracked the problem to NvAPI which is the CoreSDK of nVidia CUDA Dev by running some commands using the CUDA Development kit. This NvAPI is set of instruction of how a GPU has to react and nearly all games have a variant of it. A variant of NvAPI (Usually named as nvpmapi) is what holds the switch to different functions that the APIs like D3D and OpenGL and now VulkanRT do such as AA and AF. Every time you change something in a game's or 3D application settings, it writes a modified NvAPI to the GPUs L2 Cache (Or Dram however I think it's the cache since the DRAM resets itself when you restart PC). I tried writing API contexts to the L2 and guess what, the 3D applications started acting differently but here's the thing; whenever you close an application a global version of NvAPI must written into L2 Cache or in other terms flushed."
