It's ya boi, @DrMacintosh coming at you live from my MacBook Pro which is back in my possession! They replaced the bottom shell and actually realigned the screen which was about 1/4th a mm off of alignment. I didn't really care about that though.

Let's hope I never have to go back to that place again.

We got my MacBook for $1250 before tax. It has a dual core 6360U with Iris 540 graphics, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. We bought it in November of 2017.

I wonder how much it would be before the apple tax

If I'm not mistaken, it was $250 off, meaning that my model retailed for $1500

Apple. I wouldn’t go to an independent repair shop if i have free service programs to use.

Man i could never justify spending that much on a laptop but good on you for brand loyalty i guess

@floofer what kind of monstrosity is  that you drop close to 5gs and a small loan for a laptop

I was mostly concerned about the battery life and reliability. That’s why I’ll always buy MacBooks. Windows and I just do not get along and I can’t have Windows throw a temper tantrum when I’m not home.

When I bought it, the new MacBook Air didn’t exist, I might have gotten that instead tbh.

yeah boy ill stick to an older ThinkPad that's reliable as a Toyota Hilux along with it's repair friendly design

I agree with the thinkpads that's why I got a P52 as my CAD laptop

also @DrMacintosh if you pop a 72whr battery in a ThinkPad lets say a t450s you'll get more than 8 hours of battery life easily  and it'll weight just as much as your MacBook pro meaning it wont be a brick shit house to carry around

I’m talking about software reliability. Hardware issues have a lot of solutions to use as a stop-gap as long as the logic board works. If your OS dies, you’re fucked.
