Youtube accused of exploiting children's data in UK
adithyay328 replied to porina's topic in Tech News
Yeah, the whole concept of implicitly consenting to something on the web gets really messy from a legal perspective real fast, since it's really hard to figure out if the user actually did consent, or just wanted the notification to go away. But then again, implicit consent is a complicated topic in real life as well. -

Trouble with Windows & installation on Optiplex Machines
adithyay328 replied to ehawkins2232's topic in Troubleshooting
First paragraph: I'm not sure if my battery you mean a laptop battery, or the CMOS battery. In either case, replace it. You specified that this is an old machine, and batteries degrade pretty dramatically with time; just go change out the battery and see if that helps. Second paragraph: The boot loader got stuck on the windows install media startup. Format and reload windows install media onto the USB drive, then try the install again. Also, don't reorder the boot order, most BIOS' support temporary boot override; if yours doesn't, ignore that advice about messing with boot order. -
Ryzen 2200G vs i3 9100f vs Ryzen 3200G
adithyay328 replied to Shambles's topic in New Builds and Planning
Agreed, wait for the AMD chips to drop. Pricing get changed when new stuff comes in, and you could possibly afford a higher end CPU if you wait till Ryzen 3000 shows up. After it drops, compare benchmarks for what's in your budget, and then pick the better option. Hope that helped. -
Agreed, contact IG support, they could probably ask for some alternate form of ID and then authorize an account unlock. Also, I've had problems with connections on multiple social networking platforms, her account probably isn't hacked.

Humming? Could you possibly be more specific? I know of a couple audio problems that sound like a hum, but are caused by different issues.

Windows updates, agreed. In one of Jayz2Cents' WAN show apperances, he talked about how windows updates can mess with benchmarks in pretty significant ways. Check if your updates are running while gaming. Gotta love microsoft am I right

Yeah not many coolers have BTU ratings available. However, an H150I pro will easily be able to cool that sucker, unless you OC it like mad. Hell, even most Noctua air coolers can handle. A rule of thumb is to make sure your cooler has a greater TDP(thermal dissipation power) than your CPU.

Absolutely, almost anyone can build a computer. It's awesome that you're interested in computers, and you absolutely should go ahead and build one, if you feel that you want to. It's really fun, and also really useful; I'm still in high school as well(ayy high school gang), and learning to build a PC can save a bit of money when you go off to college; you'll know more about PCs and how to put together a cheap one, and how to save money on tech items in general. BTW, if you have any questions about build suggestions just ask around or DM me.

need help with cpu and motherboard
adithyay328 replied to nckshark's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
For a gaming rig, the main performance comes from the GPU; almost all i5+ modern desktop CPUs are fast enough for games. However, the problem comes when you pair a super powerful GPU with a weak CPU; a CPU might have enough performance for the CPU bound game logic, but might not have enough performance to keep up with the GPU bound operations, and thus will slow down your GPU. For a gaming rig, look at your budget and identify a CPU+GPU combination that provides maximum GPU performance while using a CPU that can keep up with the powerful GPU. -
need help with cpu and motherboard

What's the target workload? The reason I ask is that the workload has a big impact on where you might want to put your money. -
Hi guys! So, I was looking through Intel ARK, and just looked at the new 9th gen i9 CPUs; and noticed that two i9s with the same number of cores have much different TDPs, in this case the 9900T vs 9900K. So, I had a question; if you limit your CPU utilization on the 9900K to output an equivalent performance to the 9900T, will both use a similar amount of power, or is that not how that works? Thanks!
