ThaFacialHair's Achievements

  1. As long there is no flames coming out of the rig, I think your good.
  2. Im running that setup with two SP fans strapped on it. I hold 4.9 and sit around 70C
  3. I was able to clock my friends GTX560Ti up to 1000mhz stable and was wondering if any of you knew if it could go higher. Hes a bit nervous as am I since Ive only been clocking for a short while. Any advice for pushing it? It has a cooler on it from Alienware which is very similiar to the ref. cooler. The case is strapped with seven fans for full cooling.
  4. Do we still have an issue with the gtx970? I have a WindForce from Gigabyte and am thinking of getting a second. Same exact card and same OC. Side note would 750W be enough to push em both.
  5. I always advise a after market cooler, because it can help keep things cool inside the entire rig since the cpu is one of the highest heat producing parts. However if you have enough cooling you may be able to get by with a stock cooler. Aftermarket cooling is not always tied to just overclocking. aftermarket cooling also allows for future expansion and a feeling that your not stressing your cpu or having issues with it thermal throltting. Aftermarkets also have longer lifespans then the stock crap that both sides ship with.
  6. The Evo 212 will be the best since it adaptable to your needs and comes with the most possibilities when mounting. Also the performance is incredible no matter what fans you have on it and mine has been on for about four months and hasn't attracted any dust which is a plus!
  7. So Ive been on the fence about getting an external key pad or speed pad like the Razer orb weaver but Im a bit put off by the idea of how much I may or may not use it versus how much it costs so I thought I would ask the community here what they thought about them.
  8. So Im gona start by saying that if you want true silence then yes liquid cool, but if you dont want to risk your parts there are some much better air options. starting with the power supply, I know corsair makes a fancy one with control technology but I'm not 100 on if it will slow the fan but yes there are a few passive cooled ones, look at silver stone or corsair. The noise from the processor fan is most likely bearing or motor hum since it might not be designed to run at the low rpm you may have it at. My recomendation would be to get a decent to large size after market cooler (evo212) and dont include the fans and it can passive cool if you want decent cooling with out added noise however this might limit what you do in terms of high performance.
  9. Well since you have a microATX I felt compelled of course to find the biggest possible cooler. A friend of mine used this on his micro but his is flat mounted as oppsed to side mounted. Im a fan of overkill so if you have the case room and the budget. It worked great for him. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608018&cm_re=cpu_cooler_am3-_-35-608-018-_-Product
  10. While I agree with this post, if you want the fan there you should not have a big issue with vibration. If you want to be fully sure try some black zip ties.
  11. It should fit. The instance talked about could be special depending on ram or other installed components. Just remember anything can fit with enough zip ties. I would recommend buying it from a place with a good return policy
  12. Depending on your budget I would say either corsair or gentle typhoon for both types of fans.
  13. Couple of quick tips. Try reinstalling the audio driver. Check to be sure the port itself is not dead. You do this by trying other mics. More then likely the windows update messed with the driver it happens to me a lot.
  14. I very much agree but I personally have had better luck with WD drives however I run Josh in my current rig. If you want speed but not SSD level then get a velociraptor drive from WD
  15. Samsung makes the best SSDs hands down and the best HDD is between Seagate and Western Digital
