  1. Update: Replaced the thermal compound with Deepcool Z5, temps dropped by 10C on all cores, no more throttling under AIDA 64 Stress test. Will replace with better compound soon. CPU now reaches 3.2-3.4Ghz, warranty isn't voided I think as there were no "VOID IF REMOVED" stickers
  2. Hey guys, So, I recently brought a new laptop, ASUS FX 553VD . Its the cheapest laptop with GTX 1050 on Amazon IN. My model has an Intel i5 7300HQ inside. I noticed that the temperatures reach 85 C while playing GTA 5. So, I ran AIDA 64 stress test on CPU and found out that the laptop is thermal throttling upto 25% under the test, which I assume is normal for a laptop. The weird thing is Core #1 and Core #3 reaches only 68-70C, Core #2 82-84C and Core #4 reaches 85-87C under stress test. Is it normal for there to be more than 10C difference between highest temp core and lowest temp core? I haven't overclocked any part of this laptop. Here is my AIDA 64 graph thingy.
  3. I'm having problems with artifacts on Windows 10 Desktop. Pics attached. Graphic Card: NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti EVGA FE 1. No OC- Default Settings with 100% Fan speed. 2. No artifacts in games. 3. Artifacting only on Windows Desktop. 4. Artifacts can be seen on PrntScrn game screenshots but not actually there. 5. I also have a 1050Ti in the same system at stock, no problems when connected to that. Is this a problem with Windows or my graphic card?
  4. I mean I had power on my strip cord even when it was turned off, flipped the "polarity" on source from LN to NL and the problem was fixed.
  5. Sorry, I didn't mean polarity what I meant that the live wire was connected to left instead of right.
  6. I had a UPS, no surge protector. No power surges recently . Pc just died randomly when it was on.
  7. My gaming rig recently BSODd and died recently while in use. I have a suspicion that the wiring in my house may have potentially damaged my PC. I live in a developing country (India) and there are no regulations or standards here for proper wiring. Here is what I found. 1. The polarity of the outlet was wrong. Live wire was connected on left and neutral on the right. I had a strip cord connected to the outlet and when I used a tester(the screwdriver ones), it lit up even when the switch on strip cord was off. This has caused my UPS to work without pressing the button. Since then, I switched the wiring on all the bad outlets. 2. I also noticed that, when used the tester on my motherboard, it lit up even in the places where there was supposed to be no power including The motherboard standoff screw and rear headphone jack. There is no ground wire in any outlet in my house. Can an ungrounded outlet cause a computer to die and is there anyway to ground outlets without ground wire?
  8. Thanks, I'll be getting one soon. +1
  9. So would it work? Assuming that the 1400X is 65W and not overclocked and 1050Ti doesn't require additional Pci E power?
  10. So, my friend is building a new PC. He has a pre-built with a 290W PSU. He wants to upgrade his PC with upcoming Ryzen 1400X and a 1050Ti. Will this PSU be enough for his upgrade?
