  1. Yeah, I find a lot of people on facebook groups are pretty bad, and comment sections on say IGN , just seems like everyone's aggressive over not so big deals =/
  2. Just wondering if you find people who, in fairness know a bit about computers in general, tend to be very over the top with other users who don't? My experience is people love to be like NO YOU'RE WRONG instead of,.. being more polite and correcting them, seems like a pissing contest of who can google the fastest. Or is it just how the internet is becoming and I've missed most of it anyone have any experiences of people either being wrong, yet defending themselves and ignoring everything else, < (this i can see is annoying) or been on the receiving end of an attack for just being misinformed/ignorant , or maybe done it yourself where you can't believe this dipship doesn't know the difference between DVI and VGA so you "educate them" ( you idiot!!!! how can you not know! ) or am I just not used to internet edicate =/
  3. thank you im in a mess of chrome tabs here trying to find out how to do it
  4. The point of the post was not pewdie said this! news ( as I cant stand him) but the point of a dev of a different game claiming DMCA on videos because a streamer said the word *Nigger* on a stream of a different game by a different company, that's why I believe it to be news worthy ... let me be clear, I don't wish to promote pewd's (not like he needs me to) but the situation as far as im aware hasn't happened before or, hasn't happened to a prominent figure in streaming/youtube =) sorry if that wasnt clear by my posting of this. =)
  5. As opposed to the major publications commenting on it,...yeah I'm to blame here.
  6. Sorry, i'm not used to posting news topics, what can I do to clear it up a little for you?
  7. In some minor tech news ( as its kinda relates to youtube/twitch LINK = PCgamer.com link Pewdiepie used a racial slur while livestreaming PUBG, as a direct reaction to this Sean Vanaman, Co-founder of Campo Santo creators of the game "firewatch" (good game btw) posted on twitter that he would be filing DMCA take downs on pewd's videos of their games. Do you agree? Are creators now able to retroactively remove content of other channels and risk legal action, because they don't like something the host said (has happened with sponsorship's I know). Would like to hear your guys/girls thoughts on this... I hate pewd's personally but I dont like that kind of content, but I think a DMCA is abit of a streach removing permision AFTER the fact ( reminds me of that rape thing that happened awhile ago, wheres some extreme feminists were wanting to take back consent after the fact) (To save you clicking) QUOTED FROM PCGAMER YouTuber PewDiePie – who lost lucrative partnerships with Disney and YouTube earlier this year due to an anti-Semitic video – has used a racial slur during a new livestream. The wealthy (and regrettably influential) personality uttered the slur during a livestream of PUBG, and while it has attracted condemnation online, Campo Santo co-founder Sean Vanaman has indicated he will take further action. "We're filing a DMCA takedown of PewDiePie's Firewatch content and any future Campo Santo games," Vanaman wrote on Twitter. "There is a bit of leeway you have to have with the internet when [you] wake up every day and make video games. There's also a breaking point." He continued: "I am sick of this child getting more and more chances to make money off of what we make. He's worse than a closeted racist: he's a propagator of despicable garbage that does real damage to the culture around this industry." Vanaman made a call out to other developers to take direct action against the likes of PewDiePie. "I'd urge other developers & will be reaching out to folks much larger than us to cut him off from the content that has made him a millionaire. Furthermore, we're complicit: I'm sure we've made money off of the 5.7M views that video has and that's something for us to think about." At the time of writing, PewDiePie's lengthy Firewatch playthrough has been removed from YouTube, though Kotaku reports it had been viewed 5.7 million times already. Here is the clip, thanks to @TorqueS Warning some users may find this offensive ( and if you do...yeah.....) https://oddshot.tv/s/g_05U6 Video of copywrite attorney Leonard French giving his thoughts on the matter ( thanks to @Energycore for directing me to it ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhn6yrNzM3M Sean Vanaman's twitter reads as follows
  8. Hey guys, I finally got fibre so iv uploaded the full mod24 stream to youtube, i know its late (like very late) but if you want more of linus & luke,or you just wanna watch it again its here, it should finish processing soon, so share it about so this doesnt get lost, and the hard work of the modders, linus and luke, doesn't disappear forever. Anyways hope this is ok to post, I tweeted Nvidia, and got no reply and cant find the full version anywhere so yeah,... the first 15 min is a little messed up because i was on the wrong channel, but the rest after that is the full screen thing... hope you enjoy
  9. I'm just finishing mine up after 2 years or so of working on software, different versions, changing front ends, upgrading the hardware, getting it to sync emulator saves across the network, and using MySQL to sync the library to my other HTPC's. I'm in the processes of turning the main HTPC into a NAS, and building the smaller HTPC i'v wanted, this will be done within the next few months. It's been such a fun project. I'll post pics when its all done and a few pics of the front-end when I have time. I would love to see other peoples set-ups though to give me more ideas on what to do. To have the HTPC, be mostly automated was tricky and head scratching, but after all this time its so rewarding having everything work without using a mouse/keyboard and just using a remote and the 360 controller for EMU's and steam. My steam streams over the network to the HTPC, so it doesn't have to be powerful, and the CPU is great for emulators and power consumption and also cooling (G3258) . Would love to see your guys builds and the front-ends you have used.
  10. DSynchronize http://www.snapfiles.com/get/dsynchronize.html i use this its easy, free and works really well, i use it to sync my emulator saves across my network for my HTPCs Edit: oh sorry i misread your post, i think it only works with windows sorry =/
  11. you could use kodi, i think es file explorer has network access, and i believe vlc can do this aswell.
  12. thats another thing i have no idea, at the minute im using windows as my 4x HDD's are in an older pc i had that functions as my NAS and HTPC with kodi on, but i need my htpc to be smaller and to move the "NAS" to the office, no idea on what software.. or what software is good for this kinda thing i was just going to use windows, as i know it and its easy. But if you know of something better or another program to run overtop of windows please let me know and i'll check it out =)
  13. ok so simple really, im looking at buying a NAS but for whats on offer at the price they seem a little steep =/ so im thinking of building one using a G3258 some lower end mobo a nice mid case ( Corsair Carbide Series 100R ) around 4 Gb of ram and a gold PSU ( around the 450w range) its a little bit more expensive then the NAS i was looking at,( something like the Netgear ReadyNAS 204) i have 4x 4tb hdd's and a 120 SSD to go into it already but the computer itself is what im looking at building.. so the question.. is it worth building one rather then just buying a NAS? it will basicly be serving my house ( bedroom/office/living-room/bathroom/kitchen) with media ( music/movies/tvshows/emulators+roms/ steam libary ( maybe) ) so which is the better option do you guys think? and will what iv suggested be enough? im using the G3258 cuz its super cheap and i dont believe i need much CPU power ( quad etc) the NAS needs to be silent and serve up my media thats really its only purpose. i should add I also have 2x gigabit NIC cards + whatever the mobo will have. I know i already seemed convinced but am i just building for the sake of it and going over what i really need this box of magic to do? what are your guys/girls thoughts? also are the features the nas's have available for a custom build ie, auto backup of pictures from tablets/phones/ access from anywhere etc?? thanks, i look forward to your responses =) ..PS..happy new year everyone!
  14. they cant fire you if they are asking you to break the law =/
  15. im seeing it in 4 hours...iv been trying to stay away from spoilers so much...but the will power is fading
  16. that was my problem, as the router i was using was set in modem only mode, this new i cant do that so yup bridged it was... really thank you so much for your help, saved me hours of messing around, thank you again.
  17. Ok, so i'm losing the will to live at this point,. So, a couple of days ago I had an Linksys EA6400 router connected to a netgear router/modem that i set up ages ago everything was perfect, I used the EA6400's wifi, and it's QoS functions, I used the netgear as just a modem and a back up wifi/ guest wifi, i have the EA6400 connected to a hub in my living room with my HTPC/ps3/360 etc connected,. also coming off this is another HTPC to the bedroom, that computer (bedroom) has an old netgear connected to it ( as the mobo has 2 LAN ports ) this was set up in bridge mode, to extend my wifi to that room... ok now the problem. I was sent a new router by my ISP as im going live on fibre today. so now all im trying to do is replace the netgear router/modem with the new one i was sent (hg633) so my network stays the same, but i cant for the life of me remember how i set it up in the first place,. iv looked online but im not 100% on networking .. i remember i had to change the IP of my modem before, because i couldnt access it after i had configured it, and when i put in the IP of my router the linksys admin page comes up i also had to disable dchp on the modem, but now when i do it on the new router my linksys starts going crazy and wont connect and my internet cuts out randomly. im wanting to just set my network up so the new modem/router is just that, a modem with wifi function if i want guests to connect or as a back up wifi incase my router (EA6400) dies,. can some one please point me in the right direction. at the minute im connected like this, ( sorry for the bad pic ) I should say, i can connect to my other computers ( from the office ) so i can browse files on my HTPC in the living room, but that PC has no internet connection, I should also say that, that HTPC in the living room is also acting as a NAS and has a static IP as im using MySQL with kodi for the HTPC's in the living room and the bedroom. yeah so iv think iv confused you enough, please i just want this set up iv been up all night and just cant get it to work, any help would be great and i will provide more details if i can, sorry i know this is complicated
  18. now i see what you mean, sorry, need sleep , but yea i see your point... still its upsetting to see that becoming a thing.
  19. i guess, but if your building your own why would you go that route?...oh I don't know just seems to be a common thing these days =(
  20. why do i see these builds that want a "gaming pc" with an over the top cpu but a lower end gpu =/ am i missing something here?
  21. i still dont understand how a skin can be worth so much ,,, guess the older i get the less i care about this stuff
  22. i must admit i did giggled a little why buy something that expensive?... if he's wired almost any router will be fine, he'll be limited anyway by his xbox and the internet speed .... you buy decent routers for home networking/ wireless/features...200 dollars on a router for a wired xbox...more money then sense imo
  23. from what i remember, optical plays ONLY the source so you cant add virtual surround or anything like that, i had this problem with one of my HTPC's with the same soundcard you have,. its impossible there is no work around, only if your source is DTS then it will play, there is no setting that you are looking for, you will need the source to be dts, sorry dude your SOL =(
