  1. Hey guys, I am thinking about moving to a new area, but the only option would be Xfinity Comcast internet. I wanted to hear from any of you who have it and download torrents. How good are they are catching people downloading torrents? Have you guys received a letter/notice from them and how many GB do you download? Also, how would you rate them overall? Good for gaming and youtube streaming? I'd hate to be stuck with crappy internet and not be able to torrent.
  2. Working now. Had to add it as a network location. Thanks Oshino Shinobu for helping me work this out.
  3. Printer is an older USB only printer. I just realized that PC 5 (and all others) can print now since switching to bridge mode on router 2. However, no pc can access files on PC 1. Pinging PC 1 from PC 2 and PC 5 was successful all pings returned. So it must be a OS config problem? Windows Firewall is off on PC 1. I double checked folder properties and PC 1 documents folder is set as shared. It's Win XP Home SP3 if that means anything.
  4. I would like PC 5 to be able to access files on PC 1 and print. PC 1 is Win XP, PC 2, 3, and 4 are Win 7, and PC 5 is Win 10. PC 5 can access all other pc's except for PC 1 and it's printer. I have tried setting Router 2 to bridge mode and disabling DHCP. How can I configure the routers so that all pc's can access each other?
  5. If your looking to buy a 390X, here's a deal I saw. I don't know if your only buying from Amazon, but I thought you may be interested. http://slickdeals.net/f/8511875-msi-radeon-r9-390x-8gb-msi-interceptor-1600-dpi-gaming-mouse-hitman-359-99-ar
  6. I was wondering if you guys can help me understand software encryption. I know software encryption can require updates as vulnerabilities are discovered, but don't understand how that actually fixes the problem. Consider the scenario, I have a software encrypted file via VeraCrypt. I get hacked and the file is stolen. Why cant the attacker install an older version of VeraCrypt and use the known vulnerabilities to get access? Does the updated version modify the encrypted files so that they are re-secured?

  8. I need help deciding on a backup solution. I hope you guys can help me explore the possible solutions. I currently have 3TB of data needed to be backed up somewhere. Cloud storage is not an option since my upload is only 1.5mbps and it will wreck the download speeds when uploading is in full use. So I was thinking of either 4TB external usb HDD or NAS. I have a spare desktop PC (Pentium 4 @ 2.8GHz, 2GB RAM ) that I could re-purpose into a NAS. I would like the backup to be secure (data encryption). $150 USD is my budget. Will having a NAS running with active backup slow down my internet speeds by any noticeable amount? Is an external hdd connected to the PC 24/7 actually a backup? I want to do nightly backups to an encrypted storage device so that if a hdd dies or loses data, I can get a copy from the backup. What do you guys do? Anyone have a similar setup currently and recommend it?

  10. In WinDirStat, you may have lots of unknown files that are not shown and thus under reporting the actual used space. Go to "Options" > "Show unknown files", or press the F7 shortcut. You might want to check out my favorite disk size analyzer, TreeSize(Free), it is small and simple. If you really are doing a exact clone of C drive, 410GB (used) - 132GB (steam) = 276GB. So after formatting, at least a 300GB SSD will be needed. I assume you are planning to move to a SSD for the boot drive and your 1 TB as the storage drive. It really depends on what programs you want installed on the SSD. Personally, I install large, rarely used programs to my storage HDD which allows me to get away with using a 240GB SSD. So that's something you may consider.
  11. Which PC do you have? The link you provided to the UX32LA model shows the drivers fine for me.
  12. My favorite item in the bundle is the case. I have the 300 Illusion currently and its great.
  13. My favourite part about the Z2 is the specs and dbrand have some good looking skins.
