Apparently Monoprice monitors can have up to 5 dead pixels before return. Is this the same for other brands? -
Is there a 1440p monitor from a reputable brand name with good support? 28+ inches IPS?

The issue with reading text is the biggest drawback. Its more of a media consumption screen rather than a gaming monitor, so driving it won't be an issue. What kinds of programs are bad at scaling? I'm running Win 8.1

I'm considering buying the monoprice 4k monitor right now. From what I've seen so far here are the pro's and con's. http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=113&cp_id=11307&cs_id=1130703&p_id=12156&seq=1&format=2 Pros (for me personally): 4k resolution glossy (I keep my room dark) good size overall adjustable stand price - its ok at 400 CAD 60hz Cons (what's stopping me from buying it): TN - I want decent viewing angles speakers - not sure about the sound quality of built in ones, although not a deal breaker size - is a 28 inch too small for the 4k resolution? - will I be squinting at text and things like that? Let me know if I should buy it or not. Are 4k prices falling? Is there another 4k monitor at this price point that I'm missing? :blink:
