  1. Hope those help, Threadripper would offer him more core count, lots of development and more stability than new Ryzen. 850W PSU is more than 300W above recommended and will suit either build well while also having a Titanium cert. Masterbox is an extension of the original chosen case's design with better build quality. The M.2 could be upgraded but 660p's are still going to be far faster than any 1tb HDD, especially from WD @7200RPM, if you really want a HDD go for a fire cuda or higher. Dominator Platinum's are awesome though if you wanna spare more $ you could get the new Royal sticks that are amazing. Taichi mobos are some of the most solid driver and issue wise. ye As for the intel build it's just beefing up what he already chose.

  4. If your friend has 4-5k USD to spend on this, I would shoot for something a lot better, I'll be back with a PCPartpicker link.
  5. I looked at that case too, it has very bad quality control. There's a Youtuber called AVTechy who reviews MicroATX cases and how they cool, I just spent 2 weeks trying to pick a Matx case and wanting to pull my hair out so sadly I don't have links, I just used Newegg, pcpartpicker, Amazon, BH, etc. to browse the cases and check the clearances, sizes, etc. I'm on a 30 day no Youtube thing so I can't link his channel but be sure to check out AVTechy.
  6. As shown in the link I already own the ram, cpu, motherboard, case, fans, etc. Just not the psu, m.2 or gpu. I know 750Watts is too much in most cases, but I also know you recommending a 450w for vega56 is not going to end well.
  7. Hey, not sure what to use for my new build this is the pcpartpicker link but I'll prob add a bunch of peripherals such as my screen drawing tablet, mic, etc. and am thinking about vega 56 for the GPU. Is the 750W here good enough quality wise and do you guys know of any better deals than it? I know it's ranked as B tier on the PSU list but psu's have always confused me. Thanks for any help.
  8. Cougar, Corsair, ThermalTake, and a few others have good cases Matx that're cheap and come with 1 to 2 fans. Make sure not to buy a case with no fans like I just did (Inwin301) because I had to put an additional $40-50 in for fans and filters. Honestly your best bet is cube cases unless you can still swap to a mini itx mobo, because mini itx cases are bomb, cheap and look good.
  9. Second gen Ryzen has issues with 3200mhz compared to 3000 which should run perfect. You also want timings under 18, like 16-18-18-18-36 because the timings get desynced with the cpu when they're too high. LevelOneTechs has a great video on it but I can't link sadly since I'm on a 30 day no Youtube challenge lol. Here's the ram I'm using on Zen2 https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232418?item=N82E16820232418&source=region&nm_mc=knc-googleadwords-pc&cm_mmc=knc-googleadwords-pc-_-pla-_-memory+(desktop+memory)-_-N82E16820232418&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzbT9-Y3O4wIVDfDACh3hHQXiEAQYByABEgJuu_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

  12. Hi everyone, this has been a long and frustrating day trying different os's and the only time I have had an ethernet connection is during the installation of Fedora and Ubuntu. (I ended up sticking with Fedora, so help is needed there but I assume the problem has a universal fix) Things I've tried: Model and Cable work perfectly fine on other PC's/Laptops Iommu is enabled. Networking is enabled in the bios Cannot find drivers for my motherboard/ethernet for download as .tar or any other variant as my other pc's are all windows. (My specs are below) I need to connect to the internet as soon as possible for my job, please respond with any and all fixes you can think of and I will respond as son as I see them. If you need any additional information let me know and as stated, I'll respond when I see your question. Thank you, hopefully this can easily be resolved. 13. Wouldn't spend that much money on something playing such non invasive games performance wise but since you are set on two 980s, you would see a minor improvement in fps, nothing completely drastic but it would be probably around 10 fps depending on how many mods you have on these older games.
