  1. Has this always happened or has it only just recently started having problems?
  2. You may be able to use a program such as recuva ( https://www.piriform.com/recuva )
  3. Is the lens dirty/scratched or is it in a case like an otterbox or lifeproof case?
  4. Windows activation shouldn't affect the problem you are having. yes, remove the button cell battery from the motherboard and (unplug the computer) press the power button. OR if you dont want to get physically into your computer get into the BIOS and revert to optimized defaults
  5. My only other suggestion would be to try a Linux live USB. See if its something with your windows install or a more serious problem. Have you tried clearing your CMOS?
  6. Does this happen only at home? or at other places? (work, school etc.) Remember, wireless networking is a convince it should not be relied on 100% as it is far more susceptible to interference than a wired connection.
  7. It is possible that you have a DoA onboard NIC. Try contacting Asus first but I'd say you have damage somewhere.
  8. Looks like a good build. Should have no issues. Although, it should be noted that if you are going to be doing edition on this machine as well as gaming you may want to invest in an i7. I believe you would be much happier with the more powerful CPU. As for a monitor, go with at least a 1080p (1440p would be better) display that can run at 120 hz. Higher refresh rate monitor = better gaming.
  9. I assume you know this streamer personally... Basically run the gauntlet of diagnosis software, (GPU test benches, CPU stress programs, Memtest and hard drive checkers) On both the gaming and streaming pc.
  10. What GPU? Is everything plugged in correctly inside the computer? What kind of cabling? Does the Mobo have integrated graphics? Do those work?
  11. Congrats on getting your system back up and running. If I may make a suggestion go ahead and turn your system off rather than put it in safe mode. With the kernel refinement in Windows 10 there is not much of a speed difference between sleep and power off. I have seen a lot of people have trouble with the sleep mode and in my opinion it is a hassle that can be avoided. Don't forget to also mark this thread answered.
  12. Has it been this slow since you setup your fresh install?
  13. Try to run a chkdsk /r on the hdd before anything else. Sometimes it will help. Otherwise, I agree with the others. New HDD time.
  14. First off: What are you trying to download that is 300GB? that is a freaking huge file. Secondly: I am not sure why this occurs, Maybe clear out some more space on your hard drive? or get a cheap 500gb - 1tb external hdd and tell utorrent to download the file to there?
  15. Interesting idea. Thermal paste does tend to act a bit like gum but I am not certain if it "flows" when warm. Trial and error i suppose?
