  1. I am looking to get a headset tonight for gaming. Does not need to be wireless, but I think I prefer the wireless functionality. Would like wireless charging if that is out there. Does NOT need a mic, I will be using a Blue Yeti for a mic I am not understanding for sure if the headsets that are 7.1 surround sound are actually surround sound, but I need the headset to be 7.1 My current headset is a G930, but it is falling apart. I need to buy something that is justifiably better. I hate plugging it in, hence liking wireless charging. I was eyeing the Corsair Void Pro at first, as I enjoy my Corsair K70 RGB and overall like the brand, but reviews make it seem very "meh" The Bose QC25 looks great, but not 7.1 or surround The Asus ROG Centurion looks dope, but reviews say bad things. Was really eyeing the Steel Series Arctis 7 and Siberia 800 (of which it sounds like there isn't much difference between the two but the battery and optical output). Could use some help - wish there was something Seinhessier that fit, but idk... Thanks Guys, happy black friday!
  2. Haha, it took me until I had finished the post to realize that, thought activity was recent, that the original post was over a month old. Glad to hear it though, what do you think of g sync?
  3. I figure I got a little bit of insight into what you are thinking about, and I hope what I say has a bit of value. As of now I have an ASUS MG279Q (1440p, 120hz, ips). Before that - a 22in 1080p 60 hz then 1080p 144hz then 1440p 60hz. I also have a 4k UN65JU7100 (super-low response time tv) for gaming in the living room (Yes, I have two gaming PCs) As far as your CPU is concerned, you should experience any real bottlenecking. I have my 1080 running my ASUS MG279Q right now, with a 5820k (so about the same per core performance as the 4770k). As far as I have seen, looking at the 6700k and 7700k, maybe a 10% to 15% difference in CPU-Instensive games, so not every game. And to do that, would cost the same almost as buying another 1080ti haha. My gtx 1080 pulls pretty damn close to that 144hz mark in most games at 1440p. I am mostly talking about BF1 as that is my primary go to for gaming. From what I have seen from benchmarks, there is a (give-or-take) 20-25% boost to framerates from a 1080 to a 1080ti, so playing at 1440p 144hz should be very obtainable. As for what others are saying regarding 4k at 144hz...... I wouldn't wait for it. And if and when it comes out, I wouldn't invest in it. At 4k using the 1080 for my media pc (which has a 4770k), I was maybe getting 45-60 fps. But that was at medium settings or less. Even SLI 1080tis would have trouble pushing 4k at more that 80fps (as scaling at 4k is not going to be great) and that is ASSUMING games are going to support SLI. Then think about how much those monitors are going to cost. At LEAST 1000$, probably closer to 1500$. I personally have been looking at one of the Predator monitors (3440p ultrawide 100hz curved) and getting a 1080ti for that, but haven't been able to justify the money for that. Don't do triple monitor gaming. I thought it would be super cool, it isn't. Only for racing games. I think 1440p at 144hz is the best upgrade path tbh. I got my monitor (though it doesn't have g-sync) for 460$ about 8 months ago maybe? It does give a considerable difference, noticable... I hate 1080p gaming, I can see the pixelation. I can't see it with 1440p with FXAA on. 4k on a 27" is honestly not going to do ya much good. Yes, on a 65 4k tv, 4k looks great. But at that small of a screen 1440p is sufficient.
  4. I bought myself an Asus MG279Q for $460 or $470 just a while ago, no complaints as of yet.
  5. If you are used to higher resolutions, it may take some adjustment haha. But that resolution should be fine, so long as you put AA on. Bear in mind, that some console games still don't put out 1080p. So even on the worst end you are playing at a higher res than some console games.
  6. Well, I think I am going to troubleshoot this more tomorrow, it is now nearly 1am where I am and I have work tomorrow But, thank you for your help. It really does mean a lot to me. Sounds like maybe I should look more into recievers and sound cards. Also, I do think it is pretty freaking awesome that I am not the only couch gamer out there. All my friends said it could be done, but here we are. (also that we both have 1080s and samsung tvs). Let me know tomorrow if you think of anyting Thanks again!
  7. No there is not, let me see about that. Haha, I am worried that part of it has to do with "Game Mode". I bought this TV cause I wanted a really low response time TV, and I leave game mode on all the time. Game mode limits the capabilities of the tv to perform more complex tasks (usually more like frame filling, or whatever it is called that makes it look like more fps). Maybe Game mode limits the surround sound too?
  8. Just so you know we are the same page, I will continue attaching pictures. No option for surround
  9. Haha, this is where I have been
  10. I was unable to select 5.1 On a related note, Under General Audio Settings, the Jack Information is listed as L R HDMI Digital Jack, is yours the same?
  11. highest quality I can do is 24 bit, 48000 Hz (studio Quality)
  12. Take that back, I may have figured that out in the Soundbar settings. I do indeed have sound coming out of each speaker. (yey ) But I am worried I have just gone in a big circle, since I don't know if this is really 5.1, or just the rear speakers reflecting the front two?
