  1. i7 5820k at 4.4 to 4.6Ghz depending on the time of year. Looking forward to putting my winter OC back on in a few months. Have had no reason to even consider upgrading yet, maybe in about a year from now there will be something compelling. I'm open to both AMD and Intel. I want to see what AMD does with the followup to Ryzen, hoping they can grab a few more % on IPC. We shall see what happens. Though I'm very happy, I can game and multitask at the same time with no slow downs, which is all I wanted out of it. This is the only time in 20 years of computing that I've gotten a true, golden chip. The voltages and temps are unreal, another reason I don't want to move away from this platform any time soon. 1.15v at 4.4Ghz and 1.222 at 4.6Ghz.
  2. Generally I hear people say, for a 24/7 overclock stay below 1.4, preferably 1.35. That's from all the tech tubers and some of the major players on forums.
  3. It has good wheels and tires, as far as exhaust, I have no idea. I tried something aftermarket in the past but was extremely disappointed. Right now it's the stainless Saab Sport I think, no sound at all. Any suggestions? I don't want to delete, I like it being rather quiet, would just like to hear a bit of something because it's completely silent right now.
  4. I'm trying to think of the next mod I should do for my Saab. Since Saabs are on topic atm, any suggestions? Here's a pic and an old video I put of the engine bay on youtube. Basically it has the Viggen turbo and spoiler, manual boost controller, built head, otherwise stock really, just a few little things, oh and CAI. 1995 2.0T
  5. I will almost always prefer a manual, but I agree, it depends. There is a huge variety of auto's now days.
  6. Drafting is an absolutely awful idea, under all circumstances. It's also illegal nearly everywhere. I learned the hard way..
  7. I can score over 1300 if I leave speedstep off, so it sits at 4.4Ghz at all times, because of the amount of time it takes the Cpu to crank up to full speed. But as it sits with speedstep, I get between 1274 and 1276.
  8. Oh the joys of Northeast winter with no garage or off street parking. ...yup the inspection ran out in August. It doesn't get driven often, though it is going in the shop Friday for some work and inspection. Fully street legal.
  9. I would go ahead and do the timing chain, tensioner/guides etc etc as well, especially if you've crossed 75K miles. You'll be happy you did, I have broken 3 chains on Saab's over the years.
  10. Good idea man, a custom tune is by far the best mod you can do to a turbo Saab, hands down. There is a lot of power to be had, just gotta dig a little.
  11. This is a normal GM900 engine, it has had the head ported and polished and rebuilt, stock bottom end. It is running the Viggen Turbo, and a few random Viggen parts that I like, like the spoiler. It runs great, best highway car I've ever owned. Pretty damn quick too And good luck man, these Saabs, including yours, respond very well to modding. It's an underrated and overlooked platform often times. Also it's beginning to get more difficult to find parts, but there's always a work-around. Very easy to make a ton of power also, I'm pushing 280whp on 93oct pump gas. That 2.3 will respond even better than mine. Bigger turbo, exhaust, boost controller and tune, or even stock turbo and crank the boost.
  12. Is this where we all share our rides? Seems like it. I put my new edge back on the road, and got the Saab put back together. Also picked up a mint condition '95 Taurus as a winter beater for winter here in the Pocono Mountains. Mod list is a mile long but if anyone has specific questions please feel free. The new edge, 2000 GT> The Saab GM900 2.0T> The '95 Taurus winter beater supreme GL
  13. I messed up my first post a while back, I've redone it. But I have Intel Speedstep on, so Cpu won't stay at speed, I'll use HWMonitor to at least show that it's hitting the speed I claim. i7 5820k @ 4.0Ghz 32GB DDR4 2400Mhz MSI GTX 980 (Stock) Windows 10 Cpu: 1159 (Usually I hit 1175...) Gpu: 149.77
  14. Cpu: i7 5820k @ 4.0Ghz Gpu: MSI GTX 980 Ram: 32GB DDR4 2400Mhz OS: Win10 x64 I'm very interested in how/why people with GTX 980's but far less powerful Cpu's are scoring if not the same, much higher. Something is a bit off with this benchmark.
  15. Yeah that's why I was so surprised that it set a 30 second timeout on mine. I'm not sure if this is some kind of precaution on MS part or what.
  16. For anyone with unusually slow boot times. Click start, search System, select System Configuration. Select the boot tab, there is a timout there that can be 30, or 60 seconds. It was default set to 30 for me after an upgrade from 8.1, and a few other people I've spoken with. I don't know why this is happening, but change it to the minimum of 3 seconds. Seems rare, but I thought I'd share anyway.
  17. Thanks for the kind reply. So far it's still running good, hopefully no new bad sectors will arise, or at least not too soon. I just need a few more months. If I didn't have such huge bills and obligations at the moment I'd grab a cheap SSD, but wow my budget is tight; though it's my own fault. I went overboard with some other things, things I care less about than tech, i r dumb in that sense. Anyway fingers crossed, and thanks for all the useful info. It's greatly appreciated.
