A vacuum would definitely not work! Perhaps if you did it the other way around and put the PC in a pressure chamber that has some kind of air circulation in it then it may improve cooling performance. However mechanical hard drives might not survive that.

Razer Blade Early 2016 DBrand Skin?
terbor33 replied to jwally40's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
My brother has an XPS 15 with the mahogany skin and it looks pretty awesome. The pictures on the website dont do it justice. However for the blade i like the leather the matte black and maybe the black carbon. All with the razer logo removed -
The 1050 ti is between 5% and 15% faster than a 970m depending on the workload i believe. If you can find a second hand laptop with a 970M then that would be ideal. the 970M is between 40% and 70% faster than the 960M, again depending on the workload. Look up some benchmarks for the games that you want to play on it.

damn it forgot about converting it back from pounds. Im not sure what the prices are for used 1060 laptops. Perhaps the new inspiron 15 7000 gaming. Comes equipped with a 1050 ti and a 1080p screen for about 1100GBP. However not sure how that price changes down under
-
1800 doesnt sound like a rip off tbh. think thats around 1000 GBP which is pretty good. Take a look at the Gigabyte Aero 14. Has a GTX 1060 and a 94WHr battery. Remember that not all configs have that big battery though
-
It shouldn't have the black bars on the sides of the screens. Its a 16:9 screen so you're definitely sure you've got it gaming at 1920 x 1080. Keep scrolling through the in-game options if not. A 960M is a decent GPU for light games at 1080p. It should be able to handle older titles like BF3 or newer, lighter titles like Overwatch. Did you only just buy the 9550? Just FYI the new 9560 is being shipped in about 3 weeks time with about a 20% faster GPU and a bigger battery.

razer blade (gtx 1060) Razer stealth vs razer blade (gtx 1060)
terbor33 replied to natsuu's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
I doubt it. 5.5 - 6 hours is as much as youre realisticly going to get. That goes down to a lot less than 2 with a constant gaming load. A dell XPS 15 with the 97WHr battery would probably serve you better if youre going to be taking notes during the day. Im not sure what the battery life on those are like though. Wait for the reviews to come out before buying one obviously. Also, the gigabyte aero 14 has massive 94WHr battery.- 23 replies

razer blade (gtx 1060) Razer stealth vs razer blade (gtx 1060)
terbor33 replied to natsuu's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
man i dont understand all the hate that razer gets. Personally i think the blade is a product unlike any other. but for the guy to uses his laptop for business, travel, gaming and values the amazing build quality and the engineering that it took to shrink it down to the size it is a one of a kind product. I owned a GS63VR and promptly returned it due to its lacking battery life. 3.5 hours for a portable device is unacceptable in my opinion. I get around 5.5 hours on my blade which is much better my use case. Sure the blade throttles a little bit and its loud as heck but i really value how good the blade feels in your hands. Although i have heard some horror stories concerning quality control down at razer. However, mine has been perfect.- 23 replies

as per your original question, a cooling pad wont make too much of a difference. maybe 1-2 degrees C if youre lucky. Tbh 80*C is within the safe limits of the components within the system. I really wouldnt worry too much. just keep it on hard, flat surfaces when running it hard and you wont have any reliability issues. You can replace the thermal compound if you wish. Again it will only make a couple of degrees difference when youre gaming. nothing major

Results depend on the system being used. What laptop do you have?
-
There are tons of laptops you could have. Just a few you might want to consider are; MSI GS63VR / GS73VR Gigabyte Areo 14 Razer Blade 14 Asus ROG FX502VM Aorus x3 / x5 Upcoming Dell XPS 15

Any preference on screen size?
-
dude just be patient and wait. Dont let your greed cost you more money than you have. Im sure you can manage for another month or something. Have you looked at loads of retailers for both of the items you want to see if anyone has a discount going? Side note - why are people saying wait for ryzen??? The guy has an i5-6600K. He doesnt need to upgrade. He didnt even say anything about upgrading CPUs

Skylake Blade Stealth power adapter being weird?
terbor33 replied to MadOrc's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
just get in contact with Razer. A faulty power supply can be very dangerous. I would not recommend messing with anything. Seriously bud just call razer
