Hey ADeadlyGinger,   One way of solving this is cloning the OS partition from your HDD onto the SSD but this involves using a third-party software and a significant amount of risk of data corruption and driver issues. Another way is to use system image restore. Here's more info on this: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/restore-computer-from-system-image-backup#1TC=windows-7   Doing a fresh install was the right thing to do as this way you avoid any compatibility issues and driver problems, clean your computer from unwanted software and generally refresh your system. For future reference, sometimes there are problems with reusing your CD Key and that's where MS's support kicks in and renew your certificate.   Captain_WD.

Let me give you some advice as a 17" gaming laptop owner.

Just don't do it. You will be so much better served buying a desktop and a cheap laptop for when you're on the move.

Unless you absolutely must have the mobility and performance of a gaming laptop, it just isn't worth it.

So I'm just supposed to trust your obviously biased experiences over my own experiences with both companies?

Part of the problem with the games industry right now is that you have to be an extremely good candidate to even have a shot at a shitty job in the industry. Game programmers are like a dime a dozen right now. You will do so much better if you just go work elsewhere in the private sector, where programmers are actually in demand.
