  1. I currently use a Steelseries 9H and to me it sounds alright, albeit maybe a bit too much treble in some cases with either gaming or music. Few moments where you cringe, but it's detailed. I've had the headset for a year now I would say and the earcups and headband are not comfortable anymore. Condition of them are great though. The earcups become very sweaty fast and tend to apply pressure on certain spots on my jaw which make it uncomfortable. I have a small head. Not something I noticed when I first bought them. The headband just digs into my head way too much. Now that my hair is thinning out it's more noticeable even after a short time use with them. It might be that it's not creating equal pressure since there's 4 small pads and only the middle 2 are touching. As much as I want to keep this headset, I'm looking into getting something lighter if possible. I do casual gaming with BF4 and ARPGs. I do like to listen to music in detail, but I also like bass. Just not bass heavy. I'll Skype with a friend the odd time. If I have to get a standalone microphone or mod mic, I have no problem with that. I was looking at the Hyper X Cloud II Pro (I'm a sucker for Gun Metal), but don't know how heavy it is or how big the cups are in comparison. My budget is no more than $150 CDN. I would love to indulge in a expensive headphone, but it's just not practical for me. If I'm not making any sense in some areas, feel free to call me out and I'll try and explain better. Thank you.
  2. Are you using the same driver version as them? Same resolution too?
  3. What issue do you think you are having?
  4. I would stick with what you have now. You will not see much improvement versus the cost. If you don't care, 2400 CL9 would be optimal.
  5. No coil whine that I can hear anyway with my Strix 970. I guess the only problem would be is if you get Hynix memory over Samsung if you do want to overclock it.
  6. They should have put the 6+8 pin on the STRIX as it was their flagship design. It doesn't matter much as the 970/980 are stupid fast anyway.
  7. When it gets to 26C, what's the room temp?
  8. Are you using a custom fan curve? Mines at 38C right now.
  9. If you don't need it to do anything, why did you care about which one is best?
  10. I chained some twist ties and held up my STRIX by the end of the shroud to the drive bay cage. Pretty janky solution, but it works.
  11. BF4 and GTA5 run great here at 1080p. 970 STRIX
  12. Increase your pagefile. Had the same issue.
  13. 960 would be a good choice. A friend from work still plays wow with a 660 on 1920x1200 with no issues.
