  1. This would be perfect for my parents, saves room on their desk, can attach it to their monitor and save much more power compared to a full build. They only browse their e-mails and lookup crossword answers!
  2. gtx 970 strix from asus price went up to 449$ from 379$. Heads up if you were leaning towards this card on ncix. Good thing i purchased , well pre-purchased for 379.99$ : )
  3. The problem with the blower style coolers is evident in almost all the gtx maxwell reviews. They all reach a max of 80 *C ( I think because nvidia limits the temperature to 80 degrees ? ) fairly easily with lets say 39db. But with a custom cooler you get max 65 *C at = or less than 39db.
  4. because i can get a GTX 970 from evga for 110$ and im more loyal to EVGA than gigabyte, I owned more EVGA than GIGABYTE. Truth be told, I got GIGABYTE cards because on launch day thats the only card I could get at my local computer store. And the other GTX 670's were msi's with a plastic blower and asus dcu2 for 60$ more. The reference cooler with green led's is only for the gtx 980 no ? GTX 970 has no refernce cooler, EVGA has a blower model but with a plastic blower. Nothing fancy like the magnesium coolers
  5. Im looking to buy a gtx 970 from evga using EVGA bucks. Im inclined to go with a non referance cooler such as a ACX model. But so far im reading reviews where it states the ACX 2.0 cooler is louder than the competition like the asus , msi or windforce from gigabyte. And on its own is still loud. Even youtube videos demonstrated the whine noise. I understand its supposed to be better than the ACX 1.0 version, but it has less heatpipes, it seems less beefy, and it only has " better fans " . Right now im using a gtx 670 windforce, its silent yes, but mostly because it has 3 fans over a large heatsink the size of a gtx 680. Basically its overbuilt. The EVGA cooler is only as big as needed therefore making it smaller than the competion thus making it louder in theory under load. ( smaller fans , less heatsink material ) . The ball bearings dont help either. Sure they offer a better lifespan, but they are also louder than fluid dynamic thingy bearings. Basically id like an asus gtx 970 because its 0db in idle and because its quieter under load while offering equal cooling performance. But its also less classy ( bigger and more toy like ) than the look of the EVGA gtx 970 ACX 2.0 and I wont be able to utilize my 230$ evga bucks and get a ridiculous rebate. What do you guys think ? If you have experience with the ACX cooler, version 1 vs version 2, is there a mod to make the fans quieter like adding oil to the fan bearings ? Or I should just tell myself its going to be better than the blower style cooler anyways by a long shot and not worry about it and buy the damn card ? Or is it just as loud and as good as the competition ? Just make me feel good about buying an EVGA ACX 2.0 card, so I can justify buying one with less regrets : ) THANKS !!
  6. Still prefer original unboxings, maybe you should unbox and review ? I mean it's how i found you back in the day, looking up reviews about cases or a certain motherboard. Then I told myself maybe I should watch one of these unboxings, maybe they are better than an amateur review going on and on about specifications while showing the specifications side of the box in 360p. And I was right, and from that day forward I watched all your videos about products even those I would never buy only because I like your honesty and humor and I enjoyed watching you and I still do. Keep up the great work, and I hope you will still enjoy yourself in your work for the years to come!
  7. My first phone was HTC , when it broke i went to motorola. But damn this camera sucks and its a bit slow.. HTC m8 seems to have what i would like to have in my new phone. Front facing speakers AND a freaking awesome camera!
  8. My first card was a 9600gt from EVGA bought at a futureshop. I was new at this, but i liked this card and I liked EVGA's customer service and EVGA's community. Since then I had gtx 460 from EVGA and then when I decided to get a bew card I decided id get better cooling for less noise and I got a gtx 670 from Gigabyte. I wanted a gtx 670 because it was Nvidias newest architecture and it was only 10% slower than a gtx 680 for 100 $ less. Sad it wasnt from EVGA but happy that it was quite and fast. Since then I chose nvidia not because they are better than AMD / ATI , but because I've only known Nvidia with good customer service with no problems such as card failing, thus I stayed with Nvidia.
  9. Found this on techpowerup http://www.techpowerup.com/183225/Thermaltake-Announces-Water-3.0-Line-of-AIO-CPU-Coolers.html "The Water3.0 lineup features the Water 3.0 Extreme, Water 3.0 Pro and Water 3.0 Performer. The new Water 3.0 Series made setting up just as easy as it cools. It is time to upgrade the simplicity of liquid CPU cooling to enjoy better cooling performance and protect the investment in the CPU as well."
  10. Nice, this will do me justice for my tf2 gaming and crysis gaming. Darn tf2 always using a whole bunch of cpu and no gpu. Thanks for the giveaway gigabyte and intel and to Linus!
  11. fold for evga 111065. 150k a month they give you 5$ 300k a month gives you 10$ a month . but you can spend only for their products on their website. i got 120 $ to use anytime and i got 40k per day of folding points on gtx 670.
  12. the new series are slightly better but they are only 760watt and higher starting at 185 $ lol. then id go with a seasonic psu such as a http://ncix.com/products/?sku=77826&vpn=BPKP2660EAW&manufacture=Seasonic%20Electronics for 149.99$ platinum ( better than gold ). 660watts with the review http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=326 it got 9.6 out of 10 : ) but read all the review, its really an excellent product. and its new too, as it got reviewed december 17 2012.
  13. i got ax850 from corsair for 220$. basically a seasonic unit inside, so silverstone , corsair, seasonic, or evga usually have good psu less than 150$. go check up some reviews on http://www.jonnyguru.com and compare. and get modular if you can, worth it ! Word of advice though, dont get cheap powersupplies. My first one in my first build was a sunbeam hush 680watt PSU and had a cream pcb inside with a heatsink and a blue led fan. weighed nothing and was cheap cheap cheap. Then recentrly i saw a review on http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=204 and he tested a sunbeam 580watt psu and it failed horribly. Get one thats heavy with decent circuitry and youll be fine.
