I would also put an SSD into the build. The RX 480 will be fine.

I would go with the 750 Evo or considering an 850 Evo

~1,000 Euro build for a friend
Michael.O.W replied to ShaunOfNintendo's topic in New Builds and Planning
For the price you could get a Samsung 850 Evo 500 GB SSD . In my opinion the Intel SSD is too expensive here and not really better. -
I would also go with a Corsair Strafe RGB and buy keycaps. I don't know your location but If you are in Germany, there are keycap resellers like Caseking.

I need help with pci-e lanes and sli
Michael.O.W replied to Doggo6000's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I would only recommend getting a CPU with more lanes, If you want to run next to the two 1080 a Pcie ssd for example. If not , you'll be fine with 16 lanes- 4 replies

i5-6500 a bottleneck
Michael.O.W replied to GirlFromYonder's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I really never recommend SLI or CF because there are some games which scale well and games like Rise of the Tomb Raider DX12 which even ,at the time, only use 1 GPU. So the second GPU is here useless or the game scales so badly that you get maybe only a +5 Fps improvment. Also you get more heat output and you pull more power from the wall. At the moment i would recommend a GTX 1080 or 1070 custom card. When you "really hate"(I don't how to hate a company. I only watch from which of the two i get the best performace for my needs) Nvidia, you should wait instead for AMD's RX 490 or however it will be called. The i5 6500 won't be a bottenleck. -
I have to say, I really like the HTC 10. I really like the design and the performance. I would even get it over my IPhone

I'am using a really old keyboard and mouse combo from logitech. It's called Logitech Cordless Desktop Optical Black. In the moment there is no money for new peripherals because i'am saving money for my driving licence I think the keyboard and mouse are near 10 years old or so

~1,000 Euro build for a friend
Michael.O.W replied to ShaunOfNintendo's topic in New Builds and Planning
I personally would go for a better PSU. For example the BeQuiet Straight Power 10 CM 600W 80+ Gold. And maybe spend a few bugs more for a Z170 Board for 20 Pcie lanes instead of 16. Yes it's not an overclockable CPU but you can buy in the future a Pcie X4 SSD and link the GPU still with 16 lanes. -

Hi , Your build is good but i would make some changes. The Corsair RAM is really overpriced. Between 2133 MHZ and 1600MHZ is not really a difference. I would go with this RAM. Also 16GB. http://geizhals.de/crucial-ballistix-sport-dimm-kit-16gb-bls2cp8g3d1609ds1s00-a739120.html And i would go with a better PSU. Your PSU choice is good but the Dark Power Pro is better. http://geizhals.de/be-quiet-dark-power-pro-10-650w-atx-2-31-p10-650w-bn201-a790425.html If you won't upgrade the CPU to Broadwell and you won't using M.2 , I would even go with Z87. http://geizhals.de/msi-z87-mpower-7818-003r-a953895.html The Z87 MPower comes shipped with the newest UEFI so it will support the 4790k. And you won't need the Wi-Fi Expantioncard because it has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The Be Quiet Dark Power Pro 11 is a great PSU. http://www.bequiet.com/de/powersupply/477

Hey , The PSU is good. I'm running a GTX 780 + Core i5 with a 450W BeQuiet PSU and i even didn't hit the limit. The GTX 960 isn't worth it. If you can get a R9 290 i would go with it. But only with a custom cooler. You could spend 10€ more and get a MSI H97 Gaming 3 which is better I have no problems with it and it looks great
