HDMI can't be convert to DP (technically can, but not recommended) HDMI 1.3 or above should be able to handle 120hz @1080p ,so 144hz monitor, will cap at 120hz Newer laptop should already have HDMI 2.0 and it could handle up to 240Hz @1080p If your laptop has HDMI ver. below 1.3 then it will cap at 60hz. no high refresh rate for u.

I have used them all. 27" curved looks better than 24" curved because larger size allow "curved" to looks more immersive. meanwhile 24" curved doesn't look much different from 24" flat. For pixel density. 27" 1080p is fine if you sit far away enough. (60 cm or more) but if you stare close, text will looks a bit pixelated. so, If you have a small desk and gonna place monitor close to your body, then get 24". but if you have a large desk, then go for 27"

In summary 1. Response time value that shows on Monitor's spec is usually GTG. which is an inaccurate way to measure response time because average response time is a lot higher than GTG. 2. Having too slow response time will cause "ghosting effect" because pixels don't have enough time to change itself along with monitor frame rate. 3. The easiest way to guess the response time is to look at panel type. In term of response time speed: TN > IPS > VA. TN is the fastest panel and it rarely has problem with ghosting effect. meanwhile VA is the slowest. even the VA monitor spec say 1ms on GTG, but VA average response time usually more than 10ms. 4. Higher refresh rate monitor also need faster response time. For 60Hz monitor, any type of panel is fine. For 144Hz, VA seems to have a little bit of ghosting effect. For 240Hz, only TN can make it without ghosting problem. 5. Response time can be reduced, some monitor like mine, come with MPRT feature. which improve response time on VA panel (it actually work).

RTX 2070S is more than enough to run 1440p. and 1440p also looks a lot clearer than 1080p on 27". get 1440p

True. I'm using Samsung's VA on 144hz and I do feel a little bit of ghosting effect. So. 240Hz is definitely gonna have a ghosting problem because VA pixel response time is bad. if you're looking for 240Hz, stick to TN. Only. Btw if you want Samsung Curved monitor, get LC27JG5, it's 144hz 1440p. a much better choice.

AOC's IPS color quality is pretty ok. thin bezel looks good. btw I had AOC IPS monitor before (1080p model) and it got a dead pixel after 6 months. so I personally don't like AOC.

buttt it's really really hot with my current 1070. so hot that I have to open the side panel and rev. up the fan. that's why I need blower fan. (becoz I install inside compact case with bad airflow. only a single 8cm outtake fan. don't wanna get new case because I use it in compact space.)

Don't wanna get custom card because I need blower cooler for my tiny case. from what I heard 5700 XT ref. card is running hot and loud like a jet engine. so should I sacrifice some performance and get 5700 which run a bit cooler? or XT's high temp. is not a problem? P.S. I also hate that red LED on the XT. can I turn it off?

1440p 144hz. good balance between sharpness and smoothness. either 2070 or 5700 won't have any problem running 1440p.

I think 5700 doesn't have problem with temperature like 5700xt. btw if you have a big case then wait 2 weeks for an aftermarket cooler ver.

AOC's TN is horrible. I would stick to IPS if possible. For a cheap 24" IPS 75hz freesync https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/FsgzK8/aoc-24v2q-238-1920x1080-75hz-monitor-24v2q I have this monitor at my office. very slim design, pretty good color quality. has DP port, and it's not overly expensive. only problem so far is it has a dead pixel after 6 months. maybe I'm not very lucky.

I'm using the SS CHG70. This monitor is a beast. QLED panel color quality beat most of the competitor at this price point. VA ghosting are not too bad either. Only problem so far is a bit of light leaking at the corner (only noticeable when the screen is completely black, but not a big problem for me)

I can't find any different either except I like RG270 design more. It also look a lot slimmer.

the 32" LG one is 1440p 144hz, meanwhile others are 4k60. I would get 32" LG because of 144hz.

Resolution: 1440p looks better than 1080p. but also depend on your graphic card. higher resolution mean higher load on your graphic card. if you want a good gaming experience on 1440p, recommend RTX 2060 or higher. or else you just stick to 1080p. btw 1080p looks bad on larger monitor Refresh Rate: most people will say just stick to 60hz monitor. ok it's good enough for "beginner". but for me, 144hz monitor is much much smoother than 60hz and I see no reason to buy 60hz for gaming, unless money is the problem. Panel Type: IPS > VA > TN. this heavily affect image quality. I would stick to a better panel type than better resolution. if you don't care about image color / viewing angle, then get TN for the best price. Brand: up to you, I don't know which brand is famous/cheap in your country, but try to stick to the big company.

for me, I don't really feel much. 144hz is already smooth like butter and i don't think the sync is necessary.

32" inch curved look nice. i would go for curved one.
