  1. From my previous experience, get yourself the motherboard that has everything you need, long as your foundations are strong then everything else can be upgraded in time. My MBU has seen me through 2CPUs 3 GPU changes, multiple OS changes from upgrading SSDS and Hdd configurations. Also would hold fire on the R9 290x for a few months and wait and see what happens with the new releases. Also might be an idea to look at a 128GB sdd, I know when I started mine I started with a 64GB and long as you only use it for the OS its enough space and will make a good boost to boot up speeds. then get yourself a larger one later for gaming. As far as the CPU goes I know people who still play games with dual cores and they have no problems so an I5 quad core would be perfectly adequate, wont make any difference to your web browsing as this mostly hits your ram anyway, which with 8Gb will be ample, My system only uses 3.5GB most of the time anyway.
  2. Cheers for that, managed to find out why I suddenly had all the problems, there was 200gb allocated to the system volume information which is where all the restore points are kept. Cheers for that really helped
  3. Hi Guys Hoping to get some help on an issue which has left me incredibly stumped. I have a FX-6300 on a sabertooth fx990 Rev2.0 with a HD7950 and 8GB of ram. My OS is currently installed onto a samsung 850 512GB SSD however just recently the boot times have suddenly become awful, thought nothing of it until I wanted to make some changes to my drive arrangements so cleared the drives and noticed my SSD is half full and I can only account for about 40Gbs worth and its telling me i have 236gb left of 465gb has anyone else had a similar issue are there things i can check to see where this extra 180gb or so has come from? Thanks in advance
  4. Might be inclined to go for 8Gb of ram just as I know one of my older PCs is running 4gb of ram and that sits at around 3.5GB and my main rig has 8 but is using 4 with not a lot running. Also wouldn't be too bothered by a Blu-ray player unless your that desperate for one. Other than that pretty good choices
  5. Tell me Jarivs will say 'Good Morning Sir and what a delight it is to have you back.' when you boot the pc up!!!
  6. I love this man, really gives me some inspiration to finally start building my desk project that I've always wanted to do. Keep up the hard work and I'm sure all your effort will reflect in the final result Btw how did you get the sponsorship in the first place, do you simply only need to message manufacturers and ask nicely?
  7. It's an awesome solution to a problem that shouldn't have existed in the first place lol. Awesome job guys, I like the behind the scenes 'here's an idea you can try at home' format it mixes it up a bit. Can't wait for the solid pipe water cooling.
  8. Awww, I'm all emotional, Cheers for all the videos I've loved every one of them as from looking at the forum so has everyone else. Keep up the good work!
  9. Awesome show as usual guys, Thoroughly enjoyed it. I think Linus' hat won
  10. Overclockers, reasonably priced and good customer service, if that enough... Because haribo . though I will also use ebuyer, scan and amazon too.
  11. You'll probably find your MBU cant handle 2 fans at once, either put them on separate fan headers or grab yourself a fan controller and run them off that.
  12. Best Video Ever!!! Well Done guys, I love it. Please make more but with stupid requirements cardboard tower
  13. Just had a quick look at my photos of mine as not at my flat tonight, I currently have a sabertooth 990FX MBU and I've got crossfire HD7950s which in the top 2 slots which handle Xfire I have 2 PCI expansion slots underneath my second GPU and if you arent using your 3.5" bays you have an extra inch of clearance, however if your running any of the 2 3.5" slots you may find it will be a little tight. If it helps PCI wise on the case, 1. Blank 2. GPU1 3. GPU1 4. Blank 5. GPU2 6. GPU2 7. Blank 8. Blank. If you need anymore then let me know and ill do my best.
  14. Best way I can think of is run 2 sata power cables with the 3 daisy chain outptus and use positions 1 and 3 on each and just gently force it into the position to allow the cables to flow as smoothly as possibly but still fit. Or even an idea could you fit your ssds in pairs one on top of the mounting and one inside the designated slot. that may make it easier, unfortunately no easy way around is. Hope this helps.
