There’s a 1660...

JC, man. Nvidia doesn’t even know their own naming scheme anymore.

I still don't see why they couldn't do the 1060Ti.

If they did that, then the 1660Ti would actually make some kind of sense.

Yeah, the 10 series *60 naming scheme was BS IMO ... you have the 3GB and the 6GB, already the 3GB wasn't the same as the 6GB (so the 6GB should've been called the 'ti' version IMO), but only the memory size was obviously stated, then they added the GDDR5x memory, then the 5GB one for the Asian market with lower memory bandwidth! I don't know, feels like it was all over the place.

But then, AMD wasn't better with the 580 2048 ...

Like some have said, I think it was named that was just to stir up conversations, and it worked!

I remember AMD had the 560 with 1024 cores and I think 512, but I don't remember anything with the 580...

@Crunchy Dragon ah yeah! for got about the 560 having a "weak" version!

But yeah, the 580 2048, is just a renamed 570, if you compare the specs, they are exactly the same, pretty scammy move from AMD, even if that card is limited to the Chinese market.

@wkdpaul that also explains both cards having 4GB and 8GB variants...

There's too many 1060's in the world and Nvidia's solution was to flock up their nomenclature.
