it kinda depends, if you asked me a year ago i would've said that it was unnecessary bloat software, however i now find that i'm frequently downloading data from sources that limit bandwidth per connection but do not limit the number of connections. subsequently for me it is nice to use IDM in that situation to get my full download bandwidth. however its as @Jurrunio said some slow ones only allow one connection and fast ones are fast anyways. i would recommend using the trial and seeing if there are any services you regularly use that benefit from the parallel nature of IDM, otherwise just stick to chrome/firefox/whatever browse you use integrated download function.

Thank you very much for the easy template, I've seen a fair number of copy-pasted warnings but nobody was including a simple email template to write to opt out. I don't speak legalese and subsequently probably wouldst have been able to write my own email. Once again, Thank you for your fantastic contribution.

i suppose its too hopeful to pray hat maybe some of their designs and designers get picked up by someone else like corsair, nzxt, etc. i really love my Mercury S8 and im now wishing i had picked up a few of their other designs while i could have farewell dear friends, you will be missed

Hi LTT Forum, So, i'm looking to get 11 fans for my current rig (Caselabs Mercury s8), and i'm wondering what everyone recommends for fans? I've had a few LTT edition Noctuas however some of them have started to make buzzing and clicking noises. So, i'm a little wary on getting more Noctuas. The color scheme doesn't help, I'd also like to keep things black if possible. I'm looking to try and spend no more than $20 per fan but even that's kinda high for me. Hi LTT community So, I just got an Asus Z170 Hero motherboard and now whenever i open CUE i get a USB disconnect Sound. This is particularly annoying as the software opens up in the background on boot. This also happens when there are no usb devices connected to the computer at all. I have tried both 1.x.x and 2.x.x and they both have this issue. The only corsair product i use is a K95 RGB (the tramp stamp version). everything in device manager has a driver. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Let me know if you need any more information. Thank you for your time.

Hi guys, not sure if this goes here or in the GPU subforum but whatever. So I noticed that my msi twin frozor IV r9 290 is idling at 65c and throttling under load at 95c. This happens even in relatively non graphic intensive games. My I have a haf Xb Evo with Noctua nf-f12's running as intakes on the front at about 800rpm, so my airflow is decent. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I could do to bring temps down?

i actually got started because of minecraft. i had a complete potato CPU and no GPU. so i started researching better parts and learning, i eventually found Linus tech tips and the rest is kinda history, got bored of minecraft before i actually ever built my gaming PC though. edit: basically what @ShadowTechXTS said lol -
Hi, So, i recently purchased a cablemod kit for my Corsair RM850i power supply. The 24 pin cable has 27 wires on the motherboard side, but the combs i got only fit 24 wires. is this normal? how do you guys work around this? Thank you, PBR38

Thank you for your assistance, while fiddling around i noticed at the top where all partitions are in a vertical list, there was an unlabeled partition that was supposedly 0mb. once i deleted that the drive became one complete unallocated block. sorry to waste your time, and thanks once again for assisting me and my stupidity

Hi LTT community, I have a 2TB HDD with a strange issue. i have no partitions on it, and it shows up as 2 unallocated blocks. Please refer to the included image to see what i mean. if anyone knows how to combine these or if this is just normal please let me know. Thank you, Pbr38 P.S. This is a Seagate Pipeline HD 2TB HDD

you will find that spending smaller amounts every couple years will yield better results than spending a large amount then waiting 5 years
