    Audio recorder requirements:

     

    • Good battery life 1-2 hours
    • Mic jack (I already have clip on mics)
    • Not easy to accidentally stop the recording (I don't want to start recording, put it in my back pocket, start recording, and at the end of the video realize I accidentally stopped the audio recording)
    • Costs under 40 USD

    Why can't I get full speed from my connection?

    I did a speedtest today on my laptop hooked up via Ethernet and managed to get 20 down 40 up (weird right?). I go on my main PC whihc is hooked up via Wi-Fi (specifically the TPLink AC600) and will get less than 10Mbps down and up. I realise I'm using wifi but this is a 802.11AC card, and also my router is N300, which should be plenty to get a signal. Also I'm fairly close to the router. So is it the Wifi card or do I need to tinker some more?

    Theoretically, yes you should be able to upload lets plays as long as you don't monetize since you're not making money off of it.  Keep in mind though Nintendo is notorious for just taking shit down though.  I would either in the beginning of your videos or in the description put the fair use clause and explain how its not for profit.  Even then they still might get ya though.

    Is Gaming At Less Than 720p Really That Bad?

    Honestly, if someone doesn't mind playing at under 1080p, and don't have the budget, they can go ahead. What us gamers (and especially the PC enthusiasts) need to know is that graphics doesn't make a game 10x better. This is why Nintendo had success with the Wii and DS, sure the graphics were nothing mind blowing, but the games were fun on them (besides the shovelware). However, i believe that you need a playable frame rate to actually enjoy and play the game. Personally I think for modern games it detracts from the experience.

    What bloody great thing to be greeted by after coming back from holidays! Went to go play a game or two of BF4, to find my dell monitor is stuck in a constant loop of "monitor entering power saving mode" and i've done bloody everything, and i can't fix it, like everything and i've been to all dell sites etc. I don't really blame it considering it was my dad's ex work monitor and had been on everyday for 3 years, and then everyday for 1 1/2 years when i got my hands on it, it's gone pretty good. 

     

    Anyway, i have $300 at the most, would prefer to spend less like $250 but $300 is my max. I would like 1080p, with the biggest size (25"+ if possible in the price range) and to have displayport, if no display port it's fine. Any brand, just as long as the base is very sturdy and wont shake much and would be good to have some height adjustability if possible. I've been looking at some BenQ's and they seem pretty good.     Can I edit 4K video on this machine?

    Have you considered the Sony A6000 as a starting kit instead of Canon. The reason I mention this is that the Sony will have more user friendly video-centric software compared to the Canon. For beginners it won't necessarily matter, the canon will probably be easier to learn because of the simple functionality it offers, but if you want to go further the Sony will have more options such as a log profile, zerbas/peaking and higher bit rate recording. 

     

    Just a thought to make it more complex. 

    I need a mic jack so I cant go with the A6000 and I prefer not having to sync audio
