  1. The screens are 1440p. Can be swapped out for 1080p if there is some DP bandwidth limitation. 60Hz as this is an office environment.
  2. Hello! I am trying to find a workstation laptop that can support 6 screens. Its for work and today i am using a HP desktop with a quadro 1000 that has 3xDP that are daisy changed 1x times meaning 6 screens. The laptop needs to have 32gigs of ram and a decent CPU. Laptop is to be used in NOC operations and therefor does not have a need for very high 3D performance. Most taxing 3D it will be used for is google maps. The idea is to use 2xThunderbolt 3 docks. Is there such a product guys? Thanks for the help!
  3. Ofcourse drives can fail from vibrations... Just look at this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDacjrSCeq4
  4. This image was scanned with an epson V850 at 6400dpi Image is taken with a Pentax 67 and cropped. Film is Portra or Fuji Pro, ISO 160 or 400. Not sure. As you can see, the quality of flatbeds are quite good. The next step would be a full drumscan. http://backup.kjeks.io/Screenshots/Image005edit.jpg
  5. I have games installed on a WD Red and it pretty fast for being a 5400RPM drive. Get a SSHD hybrid or just a 250gb ssd for some games (or softcache if you know how to set that up) with a 8TB WD Red or something. WD Reds are very good drives.
  6. Does not come with ISO layout keyboard so Nordics are out...
  7. Here is the one from chrome on the box: Here is the one from home:
  8. Agree to use this tool: https://github.com/sivel/speedtest-cli ?
  9. Yeah, i feel ya. My closest speedtest box is 2 routed hops away, i can get 10 gig over speedtest on bare metal, however, the box im testing on now has a paraviritualized NIC that is slowing things down.
  10. So up until about 1 hour ago i was up for buying the topped spec Thinkpad X1 Tablet Gen 3 untill i saw that the new 2018 version of the Macbook pro came out today. Right now i am serving in the Army so i need a very mobile setup as i am living in bunk beds in barracks. I myself is a photographer and spend alot of time in Photoshop and Lightroom. I myself love the thinkpad line of laptops and own a X230 that i like (although it has limitations), however, the windows operating system is very bad so i am exclusively a Linux user when on the go. My workflow has been to upload my RAW's over owncloud to my 10 gig server located in Oslo. From there i have imported it into my LR library/catalog whenever i am on leave. Both machines offer thunderbolt for that external GPU in the future, however the X1 tablet has a 3000x2000 pixel IPS screen with 100% SRGB and 76% AdobeRGB. The apple Retina is only 2560x1600 but has the P3 colout gamut. Both machines offer 4 cores I7's at their top spec models, however, the mac is slightly faster (at the expense of wattage) and has Iris Pro graphics. They are both above the 4Ghz mark. Their ram is equal. Cool features of both the machines is that the Macintosh has the touchbar, however, the X1 Tablet has a touchscreen and included wacom stylus that can be used with the Adobe suite. However, again, i own a wacom tablet that use today with my desktop setup that can be brought with me when using the Macintosh. Os the biggest dealbreaker, as someone who only uses Windows for Adobe and Gaming id rather use something in the Linux neighborhood like the BSD based MacOS is. Windows is very bloated and very non logical in the way it works, and simply the mac user experience is much more streamlined. The keyboard of both machines are considered good, however, the thinkpad is probably better based on the fact that it is based on the thinkpad island keyboard design (*30 models and later). To give you an idea of what kind of keyboards that i like; i am currently typing this on a unicomp buckling spring keyboard... The battery is probably better on the mac (based on the info we have on the X1 Tablet for now) as the X1 Tablet only has around 5 and a half hours of battery. As you can see here the specs are pretty good for the lenovo tablet: https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/tablets/windows-tablets/thinkpad-tablet-series/ThinkPad-X1-Tablet-3rd-Gen/p/22TP2CP0113?menu-id=X1_Tablet_(3rd_Gen) Here is the macbook: https://www.apple.com/no/macbook-pro/specs/ As for now the pick is between the top spec (1tb storage) editions of both machines. Please, for the love of god, help me pick the better choice.
