  1. its odd, seeing as I love my computers (almost as much as my children .... more at times) but I just cant name my PC. If it BSODs then there is a string of names like '*ss hat or sh**box' ... but no friendly moniker
  2. Did I read you right that you plugged in the monitor while everything was powered up? This could have effected the card, its always better to plug anything in while there is no power running. Best rule of thumb would be to power everything down when you are plugging anything more than USBs into the tower. Where you go from here, I am afraid I have no answer. Perhaps you can try another card and see if that acts stably in your set up.
  3. nice build but I would have gone with an EVGA 970 over the Strix
  4. Its hugely good. I am going through an RAM process with them now, and it couldnt be easier (and the girl I spoke with at Corsair was so helpful). I figured they were good for their own parts but to pay up like that is fantastic.
  5. very nice, that waterblock is supposed to be pretty damn decent in every way.
  6. love the Singularity builds ... sweet work there
  7. plus follow your topics, then you will see the answers come in
  8. XSPC have some pretty good kits starting at around $200CAN. They are definitely worth looking at
  9. http://www.deepcool.com/product/dcoolingaccessory/2014-07/12_922.shtml These bad boys cost around $17CAN .... awesome value
  10. when I installed my OS on an SSD, I ended up having to unplug all the other hard drives.
  11. if they are in the incorrect spots, this could be the issue.
  12. I would second this ... I have an H75 and its done a sterling job.
  13. you want more in than out. That reduces dust build up. Also, try and keep your case on a desk, not on the floor or near to it.
  14. by the nature of airflow, dust free is impossible unless you are working in a dust-free environment. You can reduce the amount of dust in a case by how you set up your air pressures. A positive air pressure in a case (more fans blowing in than out) will reduce the amount of dust gathering there.
  15. a buddy of mine bought an H60 a year or two ago and runs an i5 4670k OCed to 4.2ghz with it. so far Its worked very well for him. I use an H75 and its done a great job, I think these coolers are better than most would have you believe, probably because they are not that cool and only 120mm rads.
  16. I am guessing you are going to have to get creative yourself. I am not sure how you could control the case AND room lighting from the same control point. I am sure its possible. will you be powering all the LEDs from your pc? that way you could control everything easily. Its going to mean extra wires and cables coming from your case though. If you pull it off it will be awesome, you must update us and post some pics.
  17. its should be ok. I was short about a centimeter trying to fit an H75 in the front of my 750d case, which is about 3-4cms longer than the Fractal. Do let us know how you get on.
  18. Its odd how we were all rather jumpy about our first build, but dont worry about it. Test the memory when you can and enjoy your creation in the meantime. Cheers T
  19. ^^^^ this ... And if you are not getting BSODs .... I would say you are all good
  20. I think the console manufacturers have really shown this to be true this time round. PS3 etc were pretty damn good at release, but the new gen have proved to be very poor in comparison. Nothing is built to last nowadays, its built to make you want to get the newer version with 18 months ....
  21. if you are getting the same debug codes everytime and then the PC boots into windows successfully, I wouldnt worry. It does sound like its simply telling what its doing as it boots/reawakes etc Dont forget to follow your topics to get notified of all responses.
  22. both are nice, but check out the EVGA SSC 960 as well ... see how that stacks up
  23. its the source of everything wrong in the world! PS i voted Whatsapp as I use that for chatting with family back home, but I use plain SMS as well
  24. 1. measure carefully 2. Then measure even more carefully again. 3. Take your time, be prepared to mess up and start over a few times ... 4. Buy plenty of spare tubes for those mess-ups. 5. be patient ... dont rush the heating or bending process Dont worry if you make a mess of it the first time round, just start over and you will soon learn and become confident.
