    1. The mobo only supports 1333mhz ram.
    2. Yes, I need an optical drive. I watch movies that way, and like experimenting with different linux distros on some of my old pcs, so I read/ burn a lot of disks.

    Your sorta self advertisement post...

    Why review old pcs?

Camera skills could use some work, don't get as close in to things like you did in the beginning, and perhaps invest in a tripod or something and move the thing you are reviewing to face the camera, instead of the camera to face it.

Also I'd suggest researching things you don't know about what you are reviewing so you can tell us what it is if we don't know.

Lay off Call of Duty for once

Yes it reuses the same engine that Ghosts did and yes Ghosts ran like shit but guess what? AW doesn't. You guys act like this is something new, it's not. CoD games have been using the same engine for years but what matters when that happens is how much they tweak it between games and they have done something right as the game not only looks better but it runs better and has PC specific options that a lot of games don't have. I can't think of one option that I would want that isn't present in the options menu of the game. Here's the thing though, not only does it run better and look better but they genuinely put effort into the story and design of the game. Granted the multiplayer hasn't changed much but Call of Duty has always had it's own style of gameplay and it works for it so there is little reason to drastically change something that works and that people like. You all seem to forget that most game series don't change much over the course of their lives, the basic principle behind the way the game plays stays the same and is sometimes tweaked with small additions. Halo, Gears of War, Crysis, Battlefield, Counterstrike all of these games now are essentially the same as when they started out. There have been good entries and bad entries for ALL of them.

I don't like Call of Duty, not since it's transition to "Modern Warfare" type games. But I would be lying if I said that AW doesn't look like a genuine attempt to make a good Call of Duty game and that it fucking succeeded. All you guys are doing is bashing on Call of Duty because that's what most people do, just like bashing on Apple or Alienware or Beats or whatever. You're doing it because you can all get together and have a massive CoD hating circle jerk so you can feel good about yourselves when you play a game from whatever franchise you consider good.

Mint is a great option, as I have it on my laptop, and couldn't be happier. Very familiar to windows users, but much faster, stable, and  secure than windows. And as you most likely already know, it's free.

I STRONGLY recommend it for anyone.

    Here you go ^

You always buy used parts off the forums. Something like a R9 270 would be great for the prices you can find them used.

    Fair enough.

Although, I think that mac is **slightly** better than linux due to some first party apple apps. (I use ubuntu on my laptop, and mac on my desktop, and have used windows and will soon have a windows pc, so this does not come from any real "mac OS always wins" or whatever bias)

Hyper threading is iffy as hell... I would not even think about that freakin' pentium, as it is a non-hyper threaded dual core. In 2014. Ouch.

And AMD integrated gfx on the a8-6600k can handle skyrim (which I believe is more demanding than new vegas) on high... I mean, I know intel integrated gfx suck, but that does not mean that the amd ones do.

Anyway, besides the typical "get intel because... erm... intel?" stuff, does anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking about the a8-6600k.

@Archangel1994 That cpu is above my price range, and is a dual core. Not what I am looking for at all. (Also, as I have already said, since this will be, for the time being, running of integrated gfx, intel HD 4400 is not enough.

@Jumper118 Not having even the bare minimum (hyper threading) does make a difference in multi-tasking, which is why I want a quad core. (Won't just be running steam and a game. I'll also have libreoffice, firefox, and skype open, a lot of the time.)

Here is my current Idea for the build:

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6hfqwP Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6hfqwP/by_merchant/   CPU: AMD A8-6600K 3.9GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($89.99 @ Newegg)  Motherboard: MSI A55M-E33 Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard  ($49.99 @ Amazon)  Memory: Apotop 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($65.70 @ Newegg)  Storage: Seagate Barracuda 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($48.25 @ Newegg)  Case: Rosewill FBM-01-450P MicroATX Mini Tower Case w/450W Power Supply  ($44.99 @ Amazon)  Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24F1ST DVD/CD Writer  ($14.99 @ Amazon)  Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit)  ($101.98 @ Newegg)  Total: $402.89 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-10-28 09:38 EDT-0400   Normally I would not use a case PSU, but this one has good enough reviews.

So, I need a processor under $120. It must have the following:

    1) At least four physical cores (no hyper-threading! NO! NO!)

    2) Decent integrated graphics (Enough for fallout new vegas to be playable on med @ 900p. I will add a dedicated GPU eventually, but not now)

    3) Have cheap motherboard options (That $70 dollar CPU may sound like a good deal, but since It only works with a $70 mobo... yeah, no.)

    Any Ideas?

People need to stop comparing the 8350 and an i7. It's absurd, as they have totally different price points. A more fair comparison would be comparing the 8350 to the i5-4460. (Which the 8350 beats in multi-thread benchmarks, which I care more about than single thread due to multi-tasking being very important to me)
