Daauneal https://www.vessel.com/videos/G-DUjgUyY https://www.vessel.com/videos/JYZEYDYx0 Facebook https://www.facebook.com/The.Chin.knows/posts/10206246429299522 Twitter https://twitter.com/DesignBy_Dan/status/580535690674470912 As far as how I think the service is (if anyone cares) the video settings definitely need to be improved. It really does feel like it's just starting out as far as features go. Oh and Linus DEFINITELY shouldn't be giving away his own rig. I'd rather it be encased in a large glass box and used as a monument in the new office
  2. As far as I'm aware it's all being paid for by her company so I don't think she cares about price at all. She's used a dock for all of her previous laptops and I won't be able to set it up for her in her office so I was thinking about getting a universal dock that she can get an IT guy in the company to set up for her once and she doesn't have to deal with it ever again.
  3. Nothing major at all. most likely just general ms office work. No photoshop or autocad or anything like that.
  4. Hi guys/gals My aunt asked me to look out for a laptop for her. here's what she requested "ideally with a good memory, docking station, separate key board and mouse. Software Microsoft, word, excel, outlook, budget is pretty unlimited without going absolutely mad" So, Does anybody have any suggestions for a laptop with a docking station? and a good keyboard & mouse to go with it? She didn't ask but I'd imagine she wants one that's not too heavy. I can put the software products on there for her myself, so that's not an issue. She'd be using this for work, so nothing with loads of flashing lights I'd say the specs need to be prob 16gig ram & 500gb ssd minimum. No preference on AMD or INTEL, I HIGHLY doubt she'll be playing games on it, so a 970m would do more than enough. All suggestions welcome. I'm in Ireland so can only order from Euro countries/websites Thanks
  5. hahahah that's about the reaction I was expecting.
  6. Hey guys and girls, I made a VERY quick hopefully fun Linus 'thug life' vid just to say thanks to LMG for all the coverage of CES Don't berate me for how bad it is I was just having a bit of fun not going for production value at all lol. If anyone in the Linus Media Group ends up seeing it ands wants it taken down I'll remove it immediately Happy Friday
  7. Would make a great media pc, which makes sense since thats what it's made for
  8. Sorry for the repost, I checked the posts for today but didn't see it in there, thought I was the first to see it. turns out its 5 day old news
  9. Here's a link to the full article: http://www.digitaltrends.com/web/us-internet-launches-worlds-fastest-broadband-399-month/ Anyone living in that area planning on spending 400 quid a month on internet? Gotta wonder if it's worth it for personal use at all. I've got a 120 Mbps connection that I pay 40 euro per month for, I guess 10 Gbps for 400 USD is cost effective considering price per Mb/Gb
  10. Thanks for another contest guys, and right before xmas Sure the free videos you provide us are great enough already. keep up the great work
  11. I know I only realised how old it was after I posted. I shouldn't go on forums when I'm tired. . .
  12. To be fair if his computer was completely full before he would've noticed slower speeds. But yeah his boasts are prob still bullshit
  13. I use hardwareversand.de as its generally the cheapest to Ireland, that or pixmania.ie (I'm unsure of the rules about linking external sites so I won't properly link them here) I can't remember the full specs but the battery is also starting to act up on her, it's only a small netbook not a proper laptop. The max ram is 2 gigs for example. So I wouldn't be inclined to try and improve it. She was asking about a pc for her livingroom before so she can watch movies on her tv directly, which is why I considering a new build.
  14. So I bought my sister a netbook a few years ago for her birthday, but now it's really showing its age and is crapping out on her, She's been asking me lately about using a pc with her tv. So I thought about building her an ultra cheap pc for xmas, all she does is facebook, youtube, and light ms office stuff. Although the cheapest I could build is around 150-180 euro including shipping. Which is far more than I have to spend on my sister this year unfortunately. I could probably build one for under 100 but then your talking about something that might die after 3 days of use or couldn't even run browser window. So I'll put it to the forums, What's the cheapest pc you could build for somebody? Some little rules though* everything has to be brand new. a keyboard and mouse will need to be included in price, (but not an os or monitor) the pc has to be 'usable'. As in average everyday web browsing usable. essentially a low grade htpc Oh and black friday deals don't count
  15. Roommates with a tree .... how lonely . . .
  16. I doubt that my vote is worth much considering my post count. but YES. I could only see people having a problem with this if you used the spot for other advertising after the crowdfunding campaign has ended. Good luck with the move, I can't wait to see what you guys come up with for future videos.
  17. So this is why the site is struggling to load for me, more than worth it for this giveaway, My favorite has to be the the EDG750 PSU , All the other items are great, but without the psu they can't do too much
  18. Congrats !. I'd take the back off that immediately and spray it with a clear matte lacquer or something similar to keep the signatures in good condition.
  19. hey it's no problem, No harm done. Just . . yaknow its like asking a guy from the middle east is he in the Taliban. . . Again thanks for the help, I forwarded the link on and she seems very happy with that find.
  20. Em no. . . wow what a question. . . . . . I'm not sure if should be offended at that or not. . . meh I'll go with not. I just don't use .co.uk sites that much because sometimes sellers don't ship to Ireland and exchange rates + shipping can bite you in the ass.
  21. Thanks for that, I always forget about amazon since Ireland has to use the .co.uk
  22. Thanks for the info, I figured amd but needed that second opinion. I agree and I would much rather just build a pc for her, although I've no idea if she has space for a pc, its for her 12 year old son so he'll prob play on it all around the house anyway. Thanks again for the help guy/gals, I've marked it solved
  23. Hi all, I've been tasked with finding a "gaming laptop" for a 12 year old to play sims 4 on, possibly other games in the future but I'm not sure what, I haven't had a laptop in years so I'm unsure of what's good in the gpu market for laptops these days. Oh and one small thing, she wants to spend under 500 euro . . . So far for her price mark the best I can see are Acer Aspire E5-721-630T17.3", AMD A6-6310, 8GB, 1TB, AMD Radeon R4, DVD or Acer Aspire E5-571-30DF15.6", Intel Core i3-4030U, 8GB, 500GB, Intel HD Graphics 4400, Both of the above options are just under 500 quid. Which would you choose? or are both terrible for games.
  24. in that case no, just use your TV . If you decide after a month its not for you then you can still buy a monitor later on.
