At only 75hz 1080p or 1440p a 3600 will do just fine.

jaytee1414 got a reaction from Vitalius in RAID SSD for more space?
Well I think getting a larger ssd will probably be a better idea, but the matter of fact I don't really have the money. However, I would love to try using RAID 0 and I do have a 3TB harddrive (over kill) in my computer as the mass storage and probably use it for the cloning of the os when I create the RAID. I do think RAID makes the drives easier to manage and linus got 8 drive RAID, so I'm thinking of doing it just cause I can. But the question is is it a good idea to RAID new and old drives together?

jaytee1414 got a reaction from FlamingDefibs in FrllNas / Deeenas - Dell computer rebuild as Freenas (name undecided)
Hey guys, this is my first build log and I got a funny project. Hope to see some comments or improvements about what I'm doing.
This is not a million dollars build, but rather a cheap and everyone can do build, so please enjoy. I will be finishing this with in this week, stay tuned if you are interested.
Also, help me decide the name. I would like it to be a combination of Freenas and Dell
So a short introduction about the computer. This dell dimension 1100 is the computer that my mom got me when I'm in P3? it's a really cheap business computer type of thing and it have been heavily used or online games for the first 4 years of it's life. Since then, I put it aside because of it's lack of power (single core Celeron D, with 2GBs of ram... nice). Then about a year and a half ago, I used it as a school project and tried Freenas on it. It ran for around 12-13 months and it died... Well the network chip did.. I think. So now I decided to change out some parts and rebuild this machine, because my primary backup for my Macbook Pro (no hate please) is on this machine. To do this, I got some "cheap" parts and start my attempt to rebuild this machine.
Please enjoy, and beware of the ugly photoshop because I want to take out the ugly background in the photos...
1) The case and the main parts that's going in:
2) The new motherboard:(Biostar NM70I-1037U)
3) Da RAM: (Random one... from Crucial)
4) OS Drive: (Sandisk Cruzer Blade 8gb)
5) Taking stuff out of the case:
6) After fighting with the dell...:
7) Cleaning the case with AIR: (LoL)
8) That grey / silver? is too ugly, so I decided to paint it with... spray paint for plastic models...: (hope it works and its matte black)
That's it for the first post. I was nearly killed by the paint...
More post tomorrow, and the matte black is quite nice but only about 40% of the case is painted, so yeh.. not showing it just yet.
Please comment below, anything will be appreciated. Also stay tuned if you are interested

G700s has improvements over the G700. DPI option increased and life-span clicks also has been increased. Overall material on G700s also has some improvements.

Logitech g700s (or g700) hands down. The Mamba 2013 is a nice mouse too, but Razer's build quality has gone downhill lately and their customer support is terrible.

First I would suggest not going wireless and having a wire. Removes the risk of having interference and loss of battery making it more reliable. The price tag is also dropped saving you a bit.
