  1. Pictures for reference: https://imgur.com/a/Jh1X1JG So after many years on very old PC hardware i finally decided to build a new PC with the release of Ryzen 3000 series. I was saving for a long time to make it a worth it upgrade and i am by no means rich, neither want to spend money for nothing. Back in early September i did my research for a case and decided on the new Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL. It had almost everything i wanted. Back then the release day was still unknown but near so i was doing my best to find out. Around in the middle of September i learnt when it is released and when pre-orders were going start. First they started in USA/Canada and then in Europe. I live in Cyprus which is part of EU. We have all the major shipping providers here DHL/UPS/FEDEX/ARAMEX/TNT and more. In Europe the only shop that would sell them is Caseking as they are Lian Li european distributors and OCuk (since they are partners). When the day hit with pre-orders opening i was literally one of the first if not the first trying to place an order so not to miss out (like other hardware i had to get eventually). About 10am if i remember correctly (+2gmt) the pre-orders open, i go to the checkout and to my surprise there is no usual DHL shipping option like the rest of the items they sell. I check OCuk and it is a similar situation. I had checked everything in advance and the usual DHL option (which is the cheapest) is gone. The only options are UPS express (for like 200eur) and GLS (for like 120eur, not to mention an average company compared to DHL). There was also a message saying this is a "bulky item". Ok then, i message Caseking on facebook to see if why is this the case. In the meantime i've checked other big cases (like the original O11, big monitors, etc) and all showed normally with a reasonable shipping option (usually it's like 20eur). I think to myself: "they probably don't have the actual dimensions and weight and that's why they marked it like this". However i check other countries and they show normal shipping. WTF. Anyways i wait for them to reply back to me. After a couple of hours i got a reply back. And this is when things started going downhill. First, they say the package is too big. No sh*t, the original O11 is about the same size. I go and find the DHL size limits and it is perfectly fine even if it is much bigger. I actually find the packaged dimensions and weight later and is still fine. Then they say they have to use extra packaging for protection. Ok, if this is the case the size would still be inside the limits and why do other fragile items like glass cases and monitors don't need it? The conversation goes on back and forth like this, and then they flat out say they won't ship it to me with DHL. Either i pay a shit ton of money or they don't ship it. Ok then..let's see what Lian Li has to say about it. I was already talking with them on social media because i was excited finding info and posting to reddit and i thought i might as well buy it from Lian Li directly if i need to pay that much. I was more interested to find out what they were going to say though. After having some talk with them they said i need to speak with their HQ to help me. I had emailed them and showed screenshots of my conversation with Caseking. However, one week passes and i get no reply back. I message them again on social and they say it went into their "junk/spam" folder. Anyways i wait more to see if they reply however the day that they receive stock was drawing near...i knew the stock wouldn't be huge and after accounting for all the pre-orders very few will remain. I had to act fast... MAILBOXDE to the rescue. I hadn't used them before but since i knew the dimensions and stuff i used the calculator and see i would overall pay 20eur more than if Caseking had shipped directly to me. This was due to the extra shipping cost though Germany and the MAILBOXDE service fees. Also the package would delay a little more due to the inland shipping. Small price to pay for salvation. The only thing that worried me is that they would see my name and decline delivery. Hopefully this didn't happen as 4-5 days later it was in the hands of MAILBOXDE (really GLS? you take almost a full week for inland shipping and want 120eur to ship by air?) Finally, just this Friday i received it in my hands. All good, build the system in the same day. Guess what? shipped with standard DHL, all in one piece, and without any "extra packaging" because Caseking are LIARS. And before you say "there is no extra packaging because it was shipped inlands", i doubt it and i bet i can find other buyers that got it the same, plus 99.99% of chance of shipping damage happens on ground unless the damn plane crashes, and even then it has INSURANCE. Not to mention DHL is the only shipping company i worked with with 0 personal incidents and i worked with many ones since i ship items for over 10 years. One week after my order the case also doesn't show as "bulky item" anymore but there is still no reasonable shipping option for Cyprus specifically. In the end, i don't know why Caseking did this, it's like they are hoarding the cases for themselves, or maybe just too bored to bother updating their website (possible since English is spelled "Englisch" in their site). As for Lian Li they were obvious they tried avoiding me because i'm just one customer, but they eventually replied when the case was already in transit to me. I only replied them back now since it didn't make any sense to do so after i solved the issue myself. Take what you like from this story, but it's the worst experience i had with a retailer for a long long time.
  2. LMG should feel bad. Their review sucks. Almost all subjective testing, not actual measurements/numbers and no comparisons. Just sponsored by LG to make a video. I'm really disappointed by LG. Brightness sucks, contrast sucks, backlight bleed, ips glow, + more. The only thing that is monitor has is good colour gamut and response time but advertised 1ms is still marketing gimmick. I would say price also but it is 700usd not 500usd advertised when i checked the prices online. Also they don't even state the freesync range of this monitor. FAIL. If you want a good review here's one: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/27gl850-b
  3. Hello guys. I am looking for a good microphone to fit my gaming requirements . So i'm playing mostly PUBG with a modded gaming laptop i have and i run external DAC with 2 Yamaha HS8 studio monitors. Currently i use my laptop's microphone when playing with friends which as you may imagine picks up lots of the in-game audio and ambient noise (at least my keyboard is quiet). While if i was running both the speakers and microphone from the internal sound card i could do noise cancelling (aka subtracting output audio from input audio) this is not possible with the speakers being on an external audio card. It might be possible with special software that i do not know. Also this is a bandage fix if you ask me. The problem is more pronounced with steam and discord, because at least with mumble i can setup it so that it picks my voice only when i speak. I have no idea in what type of microphone to look for but i guess it should have a directional pickup pattern? I do not have much space in front of me to set up a standing type microphone but if it is less than 15cm in height i guess i can live with. For clip-on and headset types, i would prefer it to do both since in the summer i don't wear a shirt because it is pretty hot in here. What would you recommend? Kind regards
  4. I feel really great that AMD is catching up. I'm still on a 7970M which still rocks after so many years (custom upgraded my asus laptop from a 5870m). I have this laptop for 6 years now. My previous and first pc was a pentium 3 having pci slots only
  5. Well, that would be an awesome projector to make a party event with friends at the beach! I live essentially in a big island

  7. Hello guys. I'm running this on an overclocked amd 7970M. Everything to ultra, enabled, 30++fps. However i have this microstuttering in some scenes..i did the mips fix but i have yet tried out. I'm sure it will fix that. My questions are: - Even on ultra 1080p and SMAA (FXAA 2x was too much - at least before mips; i'm going to test it) doesn't even seem to stress the gpu max. Temps are like 86oC max..while in Far Cry 3 i was playing at 97oC for hours (without a problem) but it wasn't even on ultra?!? Then i notised this in the xml file: ResolutionX="1920" ResolutionY="1080" in <RenderProfile line but then after in <CustomQuality>, <quality ResolutionX="1280" ResolutionY="720" OtherQuality="low" So is the game rendering in 720p and then upscaling to 1080p? wtf.. - I have V-sync on in normal..fps is between 30-60 in like steps (i'm assuming it follows the monitor's intervals). With adaptive is locked at 30fps (which i think is like internal g-sync in a way). What is best for gameplay? Even though i'm experienced i rarely play games (don't have enough time) to go into such small details.. - How the heck i can modify the HIDInputRemapper.xml to have the scroll wheel perform both next and previous weapon???? <Root> <remapped name="rm_0010_kb_shift" input="MOUSE.MOUSE_PREV_BUTTON" /> <remapped name="rm_0012_kb_c" input="KB.LSHIFT" /> <remapped name="rm_0015_kb_lcontrol" input="KB.Q" /> <remapped name="rm_0016_ms_mb" input="MOUSE.MOUSE_NEXT_BUTTON" /> <remapped name="rm_0018_ms_wheel" input="KB.F" /> <remapped name="rm_0020_kb_q" input="KB.LALT" /> <remapped name="rm_0025_kb_f" input="MOUSE.MOUSE_MIDDLE_BUTTON" /> <remapped name="rm_0102_kb_n" input="MOUSE.WHEEL" /> <remapped name="rm_0103_kb_b" input="" /> <remapped name="rm_0160_kb_alt" input="" /></Root> Thanks!
