  1. Not sure if this has already been asked before. I have currently 4 x 4 GB quad channel G skill 2400 mhz ram supporting my 5820k + x99-A motherboard. Am thinking of adding more memory. can I add another 4 sticks 8GB ram on the other channel?
  2. Hi guys, I bought a new monitor ( benq bl2710pt ) just a couple of weeks back that supports 1440p, 16:9 resolution. Since I have 2 Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 gaming in SLI, I tried playing all my games at 1440p and everything ran flawlessly. I tried playing Crysis 3, Metro, Bioshock, Tomb raider, watchdogs at max setting and they all ran very smoothly. Then I tried playing Civilization V, the graphic started glitching during gameplay at 1440p. Things don't show up correctly and it's totally not playable. In fact, In won't run at any resolution higher than 1080p. Since the option for higher resolution is there, there is no reason why the game won't support higher resolution gameplay. Has anyone encounter this problem before?

  4. My first build is finally near completion. Waiting for the LG Panel to come in from Korea within the next 4 - 5 days. Got a hole in my pocket now but it's totally worth it The decision to build this is strongly influenced by the people in this forum. Big thank you for those who gave me so many good suggestions. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/v6NnjX
  5. How much room do you have between your titans? I'm concerned about the Airflow actually.
  6. how well are you able to overclock with your gryphon?
  7. Hi guys, I am building a new rig out of my existing 350D case. (actually i'm building this for a friend). I am looking for a mATX board to house the i7-4790 k. I need a very good a on-board audio and sound amplifier so that I can have 2 GPU in SLI on the board and still enjoy excellent sound quality. There are plenty of reviews on ATX board but not as many on mATX board.

  9. I'd get the 5820K if i were you. You pay a little extra for 2 additional core.
  10. What is the best GPU that this build can pair with so that there is no bottleneck? I might as well sell the 750 Ti and get a GTX 980 or 970? will need a bigger case to fit them though.
  11. Hi Guys, What's a good upgrade for this 3+ years old budget system? intel i5-2400 Gigabyte H67MA-D2H-B3 Motherboard mATX GTX 750 Ti 2 x 4 GB ram @ 1600 Mhz Samsung SSD 840 PRO Seasonic 520W Bronze I replaced the graphic card for the GTX 750 Ti and the hard disk for an SSD earlier this year. I am thinking of changing the motherboard too but what would be a good standard ATX motherboard to house the i5-2400? I'm looking the standard ATX options because I'm planning to change the case so that it can house bigger graphic cards in future like the GTX 970.

  14. Since you're already helping her in maths and physics class, trying putting yourself in a situation where you also need her help in something. That way she can spend more time with you and you can build up the relationship from there. When the time is right, you can tell her how you feel. Again, you don't wait for the right time. You need to create opportunities for the right time to happen often so that you can tell her. what's her personality type? Maybe she shy away from you because she is shy? you should not take that as a sign of rejection.
  15. 2013! The best year ever. All the good things happened to me last year. I graduated, traveled for 2 months, met my current girlfriend when I was travelling and found my first job and got a higher pay than I'd expected.
  16. If for some reason you're a million dollars richer, maybe you won the lottery or the money fell from the sky and landed in your wallet, how much of that money would you spend on a new rig and what would be its specs like? edit: okay maybe $1M is too much. how about say $50,000?
  17. I'm using them to solely to install my windows 8.1 and all my games on. The reason I went with the samsung pro is the faster read/write speeds i suppose but I don't know. Sometimes I can spend the entire day at the computer shop and make the wrong choices. @ Krytopsy. I never tried installing any games a a separate drive other than my windows OS drive. Are the saved game files always stored in the drive that I install the game on or my OS drive? I'm actually okay with installing windows 8.1 because it usually won't take me very long to do a full installation complete with drivers and updates etc. Why I am so reluctant to format my SSD because I have a lot of games / game progress saved on it. My Skyrim has like 60+ different mods which I take a very long time to install and I don't think I have the time to do it all over again.
  18. Hey good day to you guys, I have a 2 part question actually 1. I am currently using a single Samsung 840 Pro 250 GB SSD but I intend to get one more of the same SSD so that I can configure a raid 0 set up. Is there any way that I can do that without having to re-install everything over again? The reason why I want to get a new one is because 250 GB obviously enough and 500 GB was way too expensive for me at the time I bought it. What I ended up doing was to uninstall the games the moment I'm done with before installing a new one. I find that quite troublesome especially when games these days are generally very huge in size. I recently installed shadow of mordor which alone takes up about 16% of my disk space =( 2. If the answer to (1) is yes and since I am planning to upgrade my entire rig some time soon, is there a way to re-use the 2 SSDs and put it into my new rig without having to uninstall everything? Because If I eventually have to re-install everything all over, then I won't both getting another SSD now - I'll just wait until next month when I am ready to build my new rig. Thanks.
  19. That's quite sad to hear. I'm still quite inclined to go with the X-99 platform because it can take advantage of the faster DDR 4 memory (it is newer too). It seems to me like it is a bad time now to get the 4790 k because I don't know when the broadwell 5790 k will be out. Sigh I'm quite tired of this waiting game to be honest but I have a disease of wanting the newest toys in the market. I might even spend a little more and the 5930 k too if the 5820 k is that bad.
  20. Hey forumers, I'm going to build a new system around the 5820 k and one final question that I have is how the 5820k compare against the 4790k in gaming performance. Will I be enjoying any noticeable fps benefit or smoother gameplay with the 5820k from any games? I don't mean an apple to apple comparison though. What I want to compare is 5820 K, DDR 4, X99 platform vs the 4790K, DDR 3 and X79 platform. Thank you all in advance.. you guys are awesome
  21. @Acoleman18\ Thanks for your help. I think i'll go with that. So excited
