For 1080p gaming......what should be the best bang out of the buck?????

the problem of amd is marketing...i don' see ads of amd processors on tv......another thing is revenue....Amd got only 5 billion wheres intel got 40+ billion dollar...so intel can hire the best engineers and designers........

You don't need 750W for one R9-280X. A quality built 550W - 600W will be plenty with room to overclocking your entire system.
The last time I check with a power meter, my system with one HD 7970 (aka R9-280X) was pulling 541W from the wall. Given that I am using a 80 PLUS Bronze power supply, the system is actually using 460W-470W.
*Note: I have a power hungry system, and my CPU and GPUs are overclocked with increased voltage.
And....I am now running two HD 7970's (aka R9-280X) on a Corsair TX850.
It's quite late for where I live, but I'll upload some pictures showing power usage for 1 and 2 graphics cards tomorrow morning.

I can remember those days when having Geforce 8800 Ultra would consider having nukes for gamers!!!!!!!!!!Now 8800 Ultra can't even match GTX 750.Same for GTX 9XX series.I don't care anymore.What i care is present.I care about present games and capable graphics cards which can run present games.Future proof is BS to me.
