IMO never worth it to upgrade from the model range of one series to the very next. I'd wait for at least Pascal, but even then the 780 will still be a strong performer, like the 680 is today.

Looks like their VNAND is definitely getting them somewhere. 16 terabytes of storage in a 2.5" form factor of any kind is already very impressive, considering mechanical drives just recently reached 3TB of storage in 2.5" form factor.
