    MSI 7800GTX (2005) and EVGA 8800GTS 640MB w/ ACS3 cooler (2006)!  I keep these around to remind myself how far things have come in such a short time.

    Thankyou so much, the sequence in your solution worked for me too on a LSI Nytro Megaraid 8100-4i when using the driver link from Nigel Johnstone.

    I had the same issue. Followed these instructions above and added a couple of steps as I have an LSI 9265-8i and an Intel expander card (RES2SV240) and 20 drives total. Removing the RAID card, expander and disconnecting the drives then reinstalling them one by one solved the issue.

    1) Removed the 9265-8i and expander card.
    2) Upgraded from 1909 to 2004. Boots fine.
    3) Installed the updated drivers;
    4) Uninstalled the hidden 9265-8i as per above instructions, Shut down.
    5) Reinstalled the 9265-8i (leaving the expander card uninstalled) and no drives attached.
    6) Boot to windows and ensure driver is updated.Shut down.
    7) Install the expander card but kept it disconnected from the 9265-8i and the drives. Boot in to windows normally. Shut down
    8) Reattach the drives to the expander card. Boot into windows normally.
    All drives and data perfectly fine.

    I just got this to work.  I removed the LSI RAID controller physically.  Upgraded Windows 10 from 1909 to 2004.  Put the card back in after upgrade, it blue-screened.  I then removed the card, booted back into Windows and under device manager I selected "show hidden devices" and upgraded the drivers to the raid card with the latest from Broadcom (used to be AVAGO).  Then, I uninstalled it from Windows via device manager (DO NOT DELETE THE DRIVER).  I then shutdown, reinstalled the card physically, and Windows 10 Pro 2004 booted.  I went into device manager again and the LSI MegaRAID card showed up with the newest Broadcom driver.  Array showed up as before with no issues.

    I think the first thing I remember seeing Linus in was back in the GTX 465 days.  MSI released a special version with a copper Twin Frozer cooler that was way too expensive and they dropped the price hard on them.  He posted a video on how you could flash them to GTX 470's and I couldn't resist snagging a couple to play with.

    NCIX and Linus have been a great source of quality reviews and content over the years and I love the YouTube channel!
