  1. ALL THE TIME people are like "Hey Ben my Mac has been acting weird lately with ads and stuff and its slow and I cant open stuff" (for the record I have a Windows). And I'll say something along the lines of "Do you have a virus?" And without fail every single one of them is like "Macs don't get viruses dumb ***" and I will just facepalm for the rest of my life (and install something like AVAST) One time I even had to do this for my sister and it was realllly bad (and i think her HDD was dying because it was making the weird clickies) and I installed AVG and she left it sort of running for around 2 days without checking on it and when she turned it on it hung on the login screen and she brought it into the Mac store and blamed me for breaking her Mac, and then to make matters worse at the Mac store the dude there told her that AVAST is bad for her computer and it doesnt need anything else because it can't get viruses. WOW
  2. Thanks! Also as I don't yet drive and I don't want to bother my parents, I think for now my only method of transportation is the highest speed of the snowblower and jogging.... But I like the store option! Thanks (also my community has a private classified emailing list so I guess I'll post there and keep my eyes open.) I really appreciate your help!
  3. Thanks bro! Also how should I advert?
  4. this http://www.memtest86.com/ run it as a bootable and it will check your ram (UBUNTU and UBUNTU's GRUB loader has it built in)
  5. That's not how timings work. Also as you OC the clocks go slower. If you OC to 1866 and then get your speeds back to 9-9-9-24 that's pretty good. (btw the CAS latency matters the most). But generally as the RAM is faster in MHZ the timings go down, so you may have 1333 RAM that is "faster" than an 1866 pair. Also the MOBO will automatically bring the timings down as the MHZ goes up so get a stable MHZ then try to bring the timings down.
  6. Feel free to try it but make sure to do stability checks. I OCed my old 1333 ram to like 21whatever and it worked fine but then one day one of the DIMMs just died (the company was very nice about it and replaced it). So basically just be cautious.
  7. Howabout not just for the driveway but for the walkway and path that leads to the house (and stairs with a shovel)??
  8. Thanks guys for the responses. Also unfortunately and apparently I am not a real man as I am incapable of such manly feats. How much should I charge for a "season pass" and larger houses? Thanks
  9. I have a g700 that I love. I've had it for like 2 years now. The battery life is pretty horrendous but that is just because its a wireless pro-grade mouse with ridiculous polling rates and other things. Anyway I love it and it feels reallly durable so kudos to Logitech there.
  10. Hello all! So I just purchased a nice snowblower; the Ariens 24" 2 stage gas blower, so I would be able to make some side money by snowblowing people's property. I was just wondering how much to charge, and other semantics. I am in High School and I live in a relatively affluent community. So does anyone have any ideas? Like how much to charge for a regular house with a smallish driveway, and maybe for larger driveways I will add a little extra. I was also thinking maybe of having a "season pass" for a little cheaper but I could get payed up front and have certain customers (plus I would give a full refund if it doesn't snow at all). Plus how often should I make runs? What if I plow early in the morning and then it snows another 10 inches? How should I advertise? Anyone with experience or ideas please help me out. Thanks! -Ben
  11. Sorry bro we feel for you
  12. try to reseat your fans. If that doesnt work take a poke in your BIOS and look at fan options.
  13. Wow this makes me feel really great about my internet... Well you can see if a 4G hotspot type thing is better and cheaper... Unlikely though. You can always threaten - that works.
  14. Try this mouse on a different rig and try a different mouse on your rig.
  15. Haha lol that's honestly the strangest thing I've ever heard! So now I know that if my friend needs help with his x99 board I should do that lol I'm not even remotely sure how you decided to do that.... Anyways...have fun with ur new computer! Good luck!
  16. the only thing i can think of is maybe port 25 is blocked on that VPN
  17. Try a hard reboot. (Hold power and volume down i believe). Changing the keyboard to a non default one may work.
  18. http://awesomescreenshot.com/00f3rl8rb2 Hmm.... I would venture to say that. Could you access BIOS now? I don't see any harm unplugging your keyboard if you aren't using it now anyways.
