  1. The former. Looking for stuff to make the foliage/water/creatures/weapons/armor look good. Just enhancing the stuff that's already in the game.
  2. What are some of the best mods in Skyrim to make the game look better? Texture upgrades, physics upgrades, etc. Only playing @ 1080p btw so mods intended for 4K+ and whatnot won't be needed (for now). Bonus points for links and short descriptions.
  3. Buying a new RX 480 soon and want to know if there's any performance difference between Windows 7 and Windows 10. I'm currently using Windows 7. Any potential pros/cons for upgrading?
  4. Bought most of the parts (CPU) when they were cheapest and it wasn't until ~2 months ago that I had everything I needed to actually build it. Otherwise yeah, something like a 6600 would have been better. Anyways, my goal is to hit at least 60fps at 1080p and ultra or high settings for modern titles.
  5. I've recently built my first computer and I've decided to upgrade it by adding a GPU. After much consideration I've decided that I'm going to go with the Nitro+ 8GB RX 480. However, I'm a complete noob when it comes to the practical application of GPUs and I would really appreciate some advice with a few different things: Operating System: I've been using Windows 7 for quite a few years now and have resisted switching to Windows 10. However, with a new GPU is there any advantage in upgrading to 10? (I'm not really willing to try Linux even if it might be better in some regards, sorry). Drivers/BIOS: I've found plenty of tutorials about the actual installation of a graphics card, but very little in regards to the Drivers and BIOS required for "setting up" or installing a new card into a system. This makes me a little nervous because I've heard a few bad things about AMD drivers and I don't really feel like I know what I'm doing. If someone could share some instructions to help me out with GPU drivers or maybe even the RX 480 specifically it would be much appreciated. Is this even the right card for me? I've put a fair amount of research into this, but its more than possible that I've overlooked something important. My intention is to play a lot of games, both old titles and new AAA ones. I have 3 1920x1080 monitors with DVI and HDMI inputs and I hope to possibly get into VR in the future. I'm trying to find a card that is decent on a budget and the Nitro+ would be about $280USD for me. So with my current build (http://pcpartpicker.com/list/9fCDqk) would the 8GB 480 make sense? And that's all I can think of for the time being. The community here has always been helpful and I have gotten some good advice in the past. Any more help here would be amazing! I'm really excited to finally pull the trigger on this and start gaming in style. Edit: I'm also considering going with the 8GB Nitro+ 470 which would be about $40 cheaper right now. Any thoughts on that as well?
  6. Where I am the 8GB Nitro+ 480 is $279 on Amazon and Newegg (although it is out of stock) and the Nitro+ 470 is $209 on Superbiz. The reference models for both are a bit cheaper as far as I can tell.
  7. I'm looking to pick up my first graphics card. I use 3 1080p monitors (HDMI/DVI) for gaming and work, and so I had decided that the Sapphire Nitro+ RX 480 would be a good fit for me. I've been waiting for them to come in stock on Amazon or Newegg, however, I just saw the newest LTT video about the Nitro+ RX 470 and I'm debating whether an 8GB 480 is really necessary for me. The monitors I'm using max out at around 60Hz, so is there any point in getting a 480 as opposed to a 470?
  8. I'm looking to buy my first graphics card and I think I'm going to go with a 1060. In order to make the best decision on which one to get I was hoping to find some kind of chart or benchmarks ranking the different versions of the 1060 in order from best to worse. Any leads/suggestions?
  9. Key specs lists that the only input is VGA. Key Specs Input(s) VGA Refresh Rate 60Hz Maximum Resolution 1920 x 1080 Resolution (Native) 1920 x 1080 Response Time 5 milliseconds Screen Size 23 inches Touch Screen No Is there anyone who owns it that can say if it only has VGA, or does it have DVI or HDMI inputs?
  10. Obviously I'm going to wait for benchmarks from the 480, but how do you guys think the 480 will stack up against the 390? Pretty nice deal!
  11. Newegg XFX R9 390 10% of with promo code AFMDD645, ends tomorrow. Additional $20 MIR. On a scale of 1-10, how stupid would it to buy one before Pascal and Polaris come out?
  12. Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a Radeon R9 390 right now, but is there any reason to wait? If there's going to be some sales soon, or if someone has announced a new card coming out then I'll hold off. Otherwise I think I'm going to pick up a Sapphire Nitro 390.
  13. Just tried buying it, but the item was no longer available. Guess they got that email pretty quickly... Someone just haaaad to ruin it

  15. 8GB of G.Skill Ares RAM is good. 8GB of G.Skill Ares RAM for less than $30 is amazing. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231546&utm_medium=Email&utm_source=IGNEFL123115&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL123115-_-EMC-123115-Index-_-DesktopMemory-_-20231546-S0C Use promo code, EMCKNPK24 at checkout to make it $29.74.
