  1. I currently have a Razer Deathadder 2013 that is broken. Don't have the money to replace him. Had him for 3 years too. Rest should be in my signature thing. Good luck to everyone else! -Drew
  2. Looks like a stunning device overall. Slim form factor, lots of power and seems to produce an amazing view on pretty much any wall. I wish everyone else luck in this competition! Whoever wins... Please post pictures of you using it so I can be jealous
  3. I've already done that. Core speed reads 4016.68GHz right now.
  4. System Specs: CPU: AMD FX 9590 4.7GHz Processor. 4Cores 8Hyperthreadded RAM: 16GBs of mixed Corsair and Kingston RAM GPU: Zotac GTX 960 4GB model C:\ Samsung 850Evo 120GB SSD PSU: Storm 800W https://www.amazon.co.uk/Storm-800w-Psu-pin-SATA/dp/B001QF5RVK I have a total of 2SSDs and 2HDDs running at 7.2K RPM. Hey everyone of the Linus Tech Tips Forums! For a while, I've been having some issues with my system that have been quite irritating... There are quite a few of these issues too... No.1 For some reason, Windows detects my CPU clock speed to be 4.00GHz, when actually, my actual clock speed is 4.7GHz, I've checked in the BIOS and my multiplier is set to automatic: displaying 4.7GHz. Alongside this... Whenever I go into my BIOS and set my CPU clock speed to 4.7GHz, my system crashes either just after I login, or even before I get to the login screen. No.2 I have 16GBs of RAM installed in my system, although Windows has decided to declare 4GB of that as Hardware Reserved. I've tried many methods from the internet, although I can't seem to get this issue fixed. I really want to be able to use all of my RAM! I know for a fact Windows should only be using around 18MB as Hardware Reserved. Note: This used to be fine until some point when Windows updated a couple months ago. No.3 Ever since the most recent Windows update, my system seems to be a lot less responsive than it was, as-well as my Start Menu not working at all. Even when I use the Cortana Icon to open up applications, I can't seem to open applications with it. I have no idea what caused this. This has happened before on previous updates too, although a fresh system reinstall fixes this. The unresponsiveness includes windows taking more time than usual to read data or begin to perform tasks. This happens across all my drives, and they're all relatively new. I have restarted my Windows 10 around 7 times now, and if I have to do it again, I'm going back down to Win7. Not that I want to or anything. The only thing I like about 10 is the interface. Thanks! -Drew I might take some time to reply, as I have exams to take.
  5. Similar story here. I have a small time YouTube channel that I create all graphics for and use this monitor to edit all videos on, so I wanna make sure that all of this looks good. I am a big time gamer so I want to get at least 60FPS, alongside a decent response time. If need be, I'll just game on my current monitor and use the new one for production purposes. I dunno, I'm just hoping for something that can do both.
  6. I'm not looking for a high refresh rate, just a LOW response time
  7. Fair enough. Even so, what sort of monitor would I be looking at then? I know the editors at LTT use GeForce cards in their systems with their monitors.
  8. Well, I have a GTX 960, although I can't find any information about colour.
  9. Hey everyone! I'm looking for a new monitor to add to my current two-monitor setup. At the moment, I have an AOC 1080p IPS monitor that I use as my main for gaming; video editing; image editing and such, although I want to replace this monitor -and make it my secondary monitor- with a new 25"-30" ultrawide. I'm looking for something with a reasonable price; decent for gaming response time; AdobeRGB and something overall well built for both of these tasks. 1440p if possible. I don't know what I should be looking for for this monitor, so could anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks! Linus' main monitor he uses seems alright to me, I just don't know what monitor to choose from out of all that are out there. Thanks!
  10. Just realised that I saw the video within that first week (at least, I'm sure I did)... I presume the code works from the time that the video is uploaded, right? Thanks! P.S: Maybe I didn't see the video in time. Not too sure, just making sure for next time
  11. How long does this last for, and which products does it count for? I'm in the UK and on the checkout for one tub of Blue Ice, I only saw a $3 discount. Thanks!
  12. I'd love to be able to win the Kiro as I need a mouse for my other gaming machine that I have running. Soon going to be training a friend up in games and want this to be their first mouse.
  13. In terms of needing to reinstall Windows, you could always get your product key from your System Properties. When you un-install Windows, you should be able to re-use the key. I've done this many many times before when accidentally killing machines which came with product keys, just ensure you have the actual product key and not some random junk which Windows displays to you. You will need to reinstall Windows yes, as your new OS wouldn't know how to work with your Motherboard. In terms of changing from Intel to AMD... This really depends on your preference. I have an AMD FX 9590, which is just a little more powerful than the CPU you have right now, and I'll tell you, I'd be paying quite a bit more for the same amount of power if I were to go and get an Intel CPU. I really like Intel, although AMD just have much better price per performance. AMD chips do tend to run better, on both their CPUs and GPUs, although provided you have a cooler to deal with the extra heat, you shouldn't have an issue. My very powerful CPU sits at around 40-50 degrees Celsius when under load. As I said, it's more a matter of preference. The main reason I would upgrade to Intel is if I wanted dual Xeons in my system or something, or if I wanted support for some features AMD doesn't have, like Intel QuickSync, although overall; AMD has the better "Bang for the Buck".
  14. What is the Clock speed of your CPU, and if you have the application CPUz (if you don't, go and get it. It has quite some useful information) What is your displayed TDP in the top right of the CPU section? I presume there must be something wrong with the cooler, as unless you have a REALLY high TDP, you shouldn't be sitting at those temps. I used to have a similar CPU, which was the AMD FX 4130, which was a Quad Core sitting at 3.8GHz, which I overclocked to 4.2GHz and that thing didn't get very hot at all with it's stock cooler, so you shouldn't be having issues.
  15. You could attempt at just copying over the system files, yes. If you were to change Motherboard in this, then it wouldn't be possible. When doing this, ensure that you don't leave anything behind, at all... What I mean by this is: Make sure you have the Windows option enabled which allows you to see hidden system files. This will help in ensuring that you copy everything over. If you miss some files, like system Cache files or something, it shouldn't be too bad. I'd suggest getting the new SSD and trying just copying over your OS and files. If this doesn't work for you, you can always just download the Windows 10 installer, burn the ISO to a USB drive or DVD/CD and select the installation option "Upgrade Windows" or something like that, which should bring over files within your User folder and below. This is all I can say really. Copying an OS from one drive to another is possible by far, although I don't know how practical it is. In terms of drive reccomdenations, I'd suggest a Kingston 850 EVO, or something around that. Mine works great as I have the 120GB model. Also, when upgrading, some things to consider... Make sure that your system doesn't automatically run Defrags on your SSD, as although this is more useful for HDDs, it actually tends to be less useful for an SSD due to wasting drive lifespan with the read/writes.
