  1. Hmm not now. I'll pass on this one. CPU will be my last upgrade to my little beast. But thank you for the offer!
  2. I'll see. I tend to always go with the one on sale! But yes, I'm aiming for 3200MHz mainly (and 4x8GB, like you said)
  3. Oh wow! Didn't know that! Thx for letting me know (and learn!) NHL.
  4. Hahaha don't worry! It has been in my planning for months now (maybe even since last year?). Cooling upgrades was first, since my old AIO was, well, getting old. Then, it's going to be memory. My 8GB is filling up real fast when doing certain tasks, like gaming or CAD modelling. So to accommodate my needs, I'm planning to go 32GB. It's not too much and not too little (just perfect!). After that, I wanted a new GPU since my new games can only run on medium/low (eg. Control needs to be on Low for a 55-60fps gameplay). But if I want a new GPU, like a 3070/3080 or a 6000 series, I will need to swap my 500W (or 600W, I don't remember) PSU, as named "bomb has been planted", for something more. Currently looking and waiting for sale on the Corsair RM750x. That will conclude the main plan. Then comes the secondary, or I call, optional plan. My CPU is included in the last plan, because it was still running fine, but I still wanted, in my life, own an Extreme Edition Intel. And the 5960X was specifically my dream CPU when I first bought my PC. I've started some searching, but I will need more advice, since this is my first time buying use parts of Ebay. I know that the "J" bin is a really lot to pick from, but don't know how to distinguish them. Most of these "upgrades" are mainly to build my little dream PC I wish I had when I was 15. (well maybe the GPU will be out of date bc it's newer than when I was 15, but oh well ). I don't know how long will this take but I'm working on it!
  5. Yeah that's what I end up doing! And it's all good now!
  6. Yeah that's my master plan! (You read through my mind ) But I want to start with memory first then GPU. My 5820K is still running good for now. I'll upgrade maybe summer 21 and then I'll need some advice for buying the right one (was looking previously on ebay: so many choice, but don't know which one legit).
  7. Yeah ok. It's successful! But I still need to apply some pressure on one side. I turn 1 time on the top screw to keep it in place and pull the rad down to turn 1 time in the bottom screw. Was just scared but now everything is fine! Thx!
  8. Hi, Is it me or the mounting mechanism on the Noctua NH-D15 requires an uncomfortable amount of pressure to secure the 2 screws in the middle?? Once I have partially secured one screw, I need to apply a lot of pressure on the other side of the cooler to pull it back, so I can screw in the other screw. Is this normal? Also, is it ok the put the Noctua fans in 0 RPM mode? Will it hurt the fan? (0 RPM mode is under 40C) Thx! NHL.
  9. But if you absolutely have to choose between the two: which one would you pick? Or if neither, what would you recommend me?
  10. Hi, I'm looking for a good/decent comfortable wireless gaming headset, with a acceptable mic (it will be use mostly for online classes and nothing else) and in white color. I would like it to be under 200$. Any suggestion is welcomed! I love the looks of the Corsair Virtuoso Wireless in white, but is it any good for 250$CAD? Or how about the Steelseries Arctis 7 Wireless? What's your opinion on those? Thx! NHL.
  11. Ok thank you @porina, @jasonc_01, @xg32, @TheTechWizardThatNeedsHelp, @cpm9 for your anwsers! Gonna wait for benchmarks and see what AMD has in their pockets (if they have any... idk?) Thx! Price are still high here in MTL, but FYI: - 1080 Ti: 550$ - 2080 Ti: 900$ There has been some post from people like us, that know the real value of the 2000 cards, on Kijiji warning others to not buy 2080 Ti at high price . See below!
  12. Hi, Title says half of it. Would you sacrifice a lot of performance if you used a PCIe Gen 4 GPU (eg. RTX 3000) on a Gen 3 motherboard? I'm currently looking to upgrade my little beast of a potato. Currently thinking between that or lowballing a RTX 2080 Ti or a GTX 1080 Ti... Thx! NHL. PS: I'm gaming on 1080p 60Hz but gonna upgrade soon to 1440p 144Hz!
  13. No, no leaks was spotted and yes I did maintenance every 3-6 months. It has served me well. As you can already read in the thread, it is a really good cooler. I just bought one and waiting for it to arrive. I definitely recommend it! (even tho I haven't received it yet )
  14. Ok so you guys have convinced me and I'm making a decision tonight. You already know what it is (surprise surprise: it's name starts with N and finish with H-D15)
