  1. I must be doing some fantastically terrible thinking today... Thanks for your help.
  2. Sorry mate, I'm an idiot. Thanks for telling me...
  3. Hello Forum! Welcome to the thread. I'm upgrading this pre-built for a friend. (http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/acer-acer-aspire-tc-desktop-pc-black-intel-ci5-6400-1tb-hdd-8gb-ram-windows-10-atc-710-eb51/10407069.aspx) Putting in a new GPU and PSU. This has support for standard size ATX PSUs right? Also, there's an open PCIE slot for a GPU right? Thank you so much!
  4. Thanks for the help. You guys are right. I shall update if I remember what the balls I'm talking about.
  5. Yeah I got that. My example is probably terrible. Phishing is what that is. I'm just confusing myself now...
  6. Phishing is correct but there's another term I'm thinking of. I'm pretty sure Linus says it sometimes.
  7. Well... Phishing is correct. But there's a more specific term isn't there?
  8. No that's not it... Umm... It's when you send an email pretending to be apple asking for an update and requiring the user to email back their username and password. Or something like that. I can't remember what it's called. There's a more specific name than that though... Edit: Okay that's correct but not what I was thinking of.
  9. I need help... I'm writing an essay and my brain is failing to remember what the type of cyber security attack is called. It's the one where the hacker spoofs an email or something and asks the victim for their information. It was used for the celebrity icloud hacks. Thanks for your help guys!!!

  13. Exactly what I was thinking. Thanks!
  14. Okay thanks. What about storage? Or do you have any other recommendations?
  15. It's not for fun, they belong to a local non-profit and they want me to fix them up a bit.
  16. I have a machine I'm considering upgrading. It's a Pentium 4 3ghz, 1gb ram, and it's got an 80gb hdd attached via an ide cable... The motherboard does have sata though. What should I upgrade? (I'm in Canada so Canadian prices would be nice. :-D) I'm happy to fill you in for any more info you might need. Thanks a lot for your thoughts!
  17. Just about to post a thread about this. Thanks @Enderman! Louis is a stand up guy with a lot of good shit to say. He's about to get... (insert something here)-ed by Apple and the other big boys (Linus, Eli, Logan, etc.) should help him out.
  18. 1. Is it unreasonable to ask for help for free? I'm tight on cash, they charge a fee and they also happened to be closed at the time. 2. What's wrong with having an excuse to get back onto the forum? It's meant for helping people. I've always found everyone to be very friendly and happy to answer questions so why not ask? I've given a few people some constructive information on their questions so I'm not sure what the problem is exactly... :-)
  19. 1. It was an excuse to bother to make a new password for the forum because I forgot mine. 2. I can't call support because I have no minutes and I don't like emailing companies because I tend to get bad canned replies back. But I suppose I have to now since nobody seems to care, or know. :-)

  21. I like the Goldberg Variations played by Murray Pariah or Michael Leslie, also the Four Seasons. But just Summer and Winter. I find Spring and Fall uncomfortable to listen to...
  22. I would have to agree with W-L's advice on fans. I would recommend staying under 1500 rpm. I would go for either the F1s or the F2s personally. It won't effect performance much but it'll be much quieter. I would imagine since you're going to all the trouble (or fun) of water cooling your pretty high end rig you would appreciate that. Are you buying the MOSFET block just for looks? If so, then great. If you want it for performance then it's completely unnecessary. Especially since you have a 4770 (non-k) which wouldn't overclock anyhow. The same goes for the RAM blocks. It's not going to do anything. But if you want it purely because it looks cool then go ahead. I would recommend buying the MOSFET and RAM blocks. In my opinion it would look too crowded, but your tastes may be different. Just know it will make zero performance difference. As for the coolant, I think you should be alright. Also, the blood red will be less saturated if it's colouring two liters of fluid. I would buy enough for 2 liters of red, but I like strong colours. Which would you prefer? Also, it's going to be a diluted colour anyway so if you happen to be short on fluid for some reason you can just add more distilled water to your loop. Radiators: You're going super overkill. A 240 and a 480 isn't necessary. Maybe just get another 240 instead of a 480 to save a few bucks. My other comment would be that you're going to be spending a lot on this. If you really do want the MOSFET and RAM blocks (want, not need) then go ahead. I would but if you like the look then it's your preference. I'm imagining that your motivation to put together this loop is either purely aesthetic, or because it would be fun. If that's the case then good on you. I wish I had the money. :-) If it's for performance reasons then you shouldn't. You could get better performance by getting a second 980, or selling your current 980 and upgrading to a 1000 series card when they become purchase-able. But if you just want to get into water cooling then have at it. It looks like a fun project if you're the type of person who enjoys playing with computers and technology. I wish I could. Feel free to ask if you'd like any other advice or help. Welcome to the forum!
  23. It's not necessary for much of anything at all. However, If you're just into watercooling and you want to watercool ALL THE THINGS! it might be worth it. Not for performance or reliability, just for fun if you enjoy watercooling. Or if you like the look of it. It shouldn't effect your overclock much. Basically: you can if you want to but you definitely don't need to.
