most likely loose fan or a loose cable

yeah,, sounds like front casefan. yeah, i said its possible an hdd could sound somewhat like that, but i highly doubt it, thats why i said im guessing on the fan

loose cable behind the fan, when the fan is on, it blows the cable away, when it slows down, the cable slowly falls back in to the blades. or your hdd is dying, but my guess is the first or that the fan is breaking or skewed.

Like the title says, my mobo, Rampage V Extreme, has been fkn with me, hanging on startup and today no boot just nonsense qcode, possibly dying, also it wont cooperate with a thunderboltex III card. board is over 4yo, so im out of warranty(3yrs) as well... What should I do, I feel like im done with this board. So new board or new cpu and mobo combo? im leaning towards new mobo only since i own a 5930k, which will be useless if i buy a new "system". what board should i get if i buy just a new mobo? Asus x99-Deluxe II ($484) or ROG Strix x99 Gaming ($420)? (only ones i have available with TB support)

way better than mine, not stable on 4.4 at 1.3........, have it at 4.375 at 1.3 now and it runs no probs, temps could be way better, not sure if tp or mount or whatever, but nothing really bad atleast

i dont remember putting it in adaptive. i dont think i wouldve cuz im already at 1.3v but thnx, ill check

my temps are weird too, 5930k 4.375ghz 1.3v idles just below 40 after i reseated my h110 and used nt-h1 instead of as5, playing csgo i go like 60ish. but running occt it stopped after a minute reaching 86c...... my room is like 19-24c...

depending on how much ram you have ill say the same, a ram increase is what can make a difference atm.

get a 16gb quad channel kit instead of 1x8gb x99 will benefit more from 4 sticks as its quad channel. also, 16gb is much better for video and photo editing. Edit: I mean youre already spending money on x99, so do it right

my 5930k at 4.375ghz on 1.3v is 40-42c idle with an h110, that my friend, feels to high, i would want it below 40... Edit: reseated, pull air out from case, added 2 fans in case, changed from as5 to noctua nt-h1 or what its called, now under 40 idle )

nvidia fanboy, but if an amd card gives better price/performance thats what i recommend to others. myself tho, i like nvidia better for no reason.

awesome mobo, but an x99-a or x99-deluxe is almost equally as good if you want asus only. feel like the rampage v extreme is overkill for me and most of the people tho

just put it next to the gpu led before you install it and try diffrent blues that seem close and choose the best one?
