    As you like.
    For storage and games, you don't need a NVMe SSD. Get a good SATA SSD like 850 EVO and you're good to go.
    I suggest you to get a used haswell i7 as i5 will start to age after a few years due to lack of cores/threads

    Considering your usecase, and considering them VM's are for work, my advice is still solid. Accept this fact please. (it's up to you to spend the money on newer hardware)
