Hello, so I have an entry-level gaming PC with specs:
fx 6300 @ stock 3.5GHz (will overclock if needed)
Asrock 970 Extreme3 r2.0
2x2GB Corsair vengeance LP at 1600 MHz
ASUS HD 7770 1GD5-V2
500W Cooler Master PSU
WD 500GB HDD (http://www.hdsentinel.com/storageinfo_details.php?lang=en&model=WDC%20WD5000AAKS-00YGA0)
LATEST BIOS FROM ASROCK 1.04
WINDOWS 8.1 64-BIT
(good cooling for everything)
So I tried BF4 today for the first time since the beta, and even when I turn every setting down to low, with 2x AA, at 1440x900, the game sometimes freezes when moving, or when in high-action scenes. This happens every 3 or 4 seconds, but in between sometimes I get around 75 fps when just free-looking, but when I start to move, the fps dips to an average of like 10 fps. This had happened to me during the beta as well. I don't run any extra programs in the background (just onedrive and default processes run by windows). There are a couple of things that I THINK may be the problem:
CPU (because I have similar issue in PS2, and when you use the FPS debugger, it says CPU)
RAM (because 4GB is a bit too low isn't it? I usually use up 85% when running BF4)
HDD (because I've seen similar freezing happen during normal usage when HDD light is almost constantly lit when HDD is under heavy usage)
I think its the HDD because its really old and it was the slowest part of my computer when I did the windows performance indexing with Windows 7... but I want to be certain. Please help me solve this issue... THanks
