  1. Hello LTT Forums Members, I'm looking at upgrading some of my PC, since technology is progressing so fast. The RAM I have installed is two sticks of G.Skill Value RAM at 4GB a stick, so they're not worth much to sell. I'm going to try to buy two more 4GB sticks, since GSkill Value is so cheap, but they may have different clock speeds. Is it OK to put 2 1600 MHz Sticks in with two sticks of higher clocked memory? Can I add in two 8GB sticks with my two 4GB sticks for 24GB?
  2. EDIT: Everything's fine now. I don't know what the fuck happened, I could swear everything was working. Anyway, thanks for the help, everyone.
  3. Yes, I tried them on my phone using the individual headphone line, not attached to the dongle. That worked, so I tried unplugging the dongle and plugging them into my computer. They work now, but I can't tune anything in the software. Got them to work by using the individual 3.5mm jacks w/o the dongle. It works, but they don't show up in the software at all, meaning I can't use my equalizer settings
  4. That was the first thing I tried. I'm not exactly an idiot...
  5. You are NOT going to get a decent PC with a $206 budget.
  6. So, today I decided to rearrange my setup, so I powered my PC off and unplugged everything. When I had everything back where I wanted it, I plugged everything in. Everything works fine except for my headset, Logitech G430s. I've tried google searching this, uninstalling drivers, reinstalling drivers, restarting, different USB ports, pretty much anything you can think of. It registers them in control panel, and as headphones, and the Logitech Gaming software even recognizes them. I doubt it would be a hardware issue, as they were working before I moved everything. Any help is hugely appreciated. EDIT: 10 mins after I posted, I tried taking the dongle off of the headphone and mic lines, then plugging those into the back panel of my motherboard. It fixed the issue of no sound, however they don't show up in Logitech Gaming Software, but if I plug the dongle back in, they show up in the software but play no sound. What the fuck, Logitech?
  7. It's not required by the manufacturer, and the sagging of the card is probably fine, I'm just overly paranoid about it. My Hyper 212 EVO kind of gives me that same feeling, like eventually my motherboard will snap, but I'm just overreacting. The backplate would just satisfy my OCD tendencies.
  8. Hello! My EVGA GTX 970 SSC looks like it's 'sagging' a little bit, the PCB is bending about 1-2mm down. I'm trying to find backplates for it online but I can't seem to find any. It's out of stock at Amazon, Newegg, and EVGA's website. Does anyone know if they stopped supporting these backplates or if they're just really scarce right now?
  9. Check to see if your GPU's fans turn on, or if your GPU fans turn on only on load, check if they twitch (they should). If that doesn't help, see if both PCIe connectors are plugged in to BOTH your PSU and GPU. If none of those work, I'd say its your motherboard doing some weird crap and you should open a support ticket to Newegg or NCIX or wherever you bought it from.
  10. Hello all! As you may know, the Steam Winter Sale is going to end in a few days and I still haven't bought anything yet. I pretty much exhausted all of my money and stuff on a basically brand new system (minus CPU and RAM) and I only have about $50 left. I want to buy an open world game with that money, and I was considering GTA V or Just Cause 3. I've always liked the open world gameplay and even though JC3 and GTAV are basically the same, GTA appeals to me more and I have no idea why. Here's a discussion question: which would you buy and why?
  11. OK, after fiddling in the bios for some time, I finally figured it out. For those who are having my same issue, here's how to fix it. 1. Boot into the BIOS by pressing delete during POST. 2. (for MSI motherboards) Click the button on the top right that says "Settings" 3. Click on "Boot" in the drop-down list. 4. On the second list from the top, next to 1st Boot, click that and select your SSD from the list. Back out from that. 5. Click on Hard Disk Drive BBS Priorities. 6. On the "1st Boot" row click and select your SSD. 7. On the "2nd Boot" row, click and select "Disabled."
  12. Yes, very far left. HDD is on the very far right.
  13. MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition. Should've provided that. Edited
  14. Hello all, I received an SSD for Christmas, and just today I decided to do a clean install of Windows 10 to it. I rearranged my boot order to have the SSD at the front, the hard drive at the back. My computer boots into my hard drive OS. However, when I press F11 on start up to force it to boot to a drive, and I force it to boot to my SSD, it works. Does anyone have any idea why it might be doing this and how to fix it? EDIT: Motherboard is MSI Z97s SLI Krait Edition if you need it.
  15. Fuck. Oh well. I'm not doing anything with it anyway.
