  1. We'could have done a better job of saying we hadn't validated it - Linus Sebastian (thinks he is a journalist)

  2. Well, thats perfect for the mod. This board should be a strong oc board - but thats also dependent on the CPU. my confusion came from intels stupid naming scheme a "Intel® Core™2 Extreme" can be a dual core or a quad core. an in older boards only the dual cores work, so older mobos support some Intel® Core™2 Extreme cpus but only the dual cores...
  3. Well, i cant tell the model of that board... You only need a 775 which supports quad core's and an mainstream chipset. There are some server/industrial chipsets which dont work with the mod
  4. overclocking? , since you got an i5 8600k most probably yes your looking at z370 what budget do you have in mind
  5. No, its a chipset limitation - no quad cores. I suppose it could work with a xeon dual core - but whats the point. Unless you just want to do the mod - ive done it and yes its fun but if thats the case get a 775 mainboard with a newer chipset
  6. I would guess under the heat shrink are some components, so to figure out how its wired you most likely have to buy one
  7. So you sad stock clocks, however Coretemp VID field say you are running 1,36V - thats not dangerouslz high but to high for stock clocks as far as I can remenber. Try lower Vcore
  8. Well, if your laptop has an m.2 slot you could put in a 32GB/64GB Intel Optane, and you could advice windows to put the pagefile on Optane, but it would be anyone's guess if you would actually notice any change. I suppose if you have 50+ tabs it might be less slow with optane but I cant say for certain. however if you really want to try it - 32gb optane m.2 aren't expencive
  9. The missing pin is optional - in anything moden
