  1. Lol, you necro'ed that thread and it got locked (thread necroing is replying to a thread that has not been posted on for months or more).

Anyways, content count means the amount of posts you have made on the forum. Keep in mind though that posting in the 'off-topic' sub forum does not count up this number.

Yes I noticed it my self when I wrote the comment that content count went up. I updated my post and explained it/explained my self and even apologized for posting in a old thread man. I googled what content count meant, found the thread and just replied. Didn't see the date.

Anyways, the policy here is that rather than write in existing threads, start new ones about the same stuff because that's the way things work around here. Got it now. I will no "necro" anymore threads.

yeah, I dunno what the rules now are in terms of thread necro'ing or reposting, but for simple questions like this I would just post a thread asking. thread necro'ing is frowned upon and usually the threads will be locked anyways.

I've been a member on the forum for a while but not active. So I guess I'll have to learn how things go around here. Thanks man. Have a good one.

  2. Can someone please help me understand what "content count" means? When I'm clicking my profile, it says "CONTENT COUNT: 29" - What does that mean? I just edited my post. So please don't report me. I apologized for bringing up the thread, didn't realize the date. I googled it and found it.
  3. Can someone please help me understand what "content count" means? When I'm clicking my profile, it says "CONTENT COUNT: 29" - What does that mean? EDIT: Okay. Now as soon as I wrote this comment, it went from 29 to 30. I thought it was something else than forum posts. It's a weird title/name for posts you make. "Content count". Forum posts sounds easier to understand? Sorry for bringing this up in a old thead. I answered my own question.
  4. I feel the same way! I really enjoy building and looking at the finished product!
  5. New stuff to learn/get used to on this new site :) Looks good.

  6. On this particular forum, yes. But I have followed Linus for a long time. I have another tech forum I've been on since 2004, that's when you were 2 years old...
  7. Well. English is not my primary language, but I know that YOU know what I actually meant by saying 2 cores.... but I guess you just need to be that guy, don't you? And I just noticed that you are the biggest fanboy on the forum, so I don't see any point arguing with you anymore. Have fun looking only one way for the rest of your life.
  8. They have ONE card that's better than all, but that is a 2 core card Nvidia could just make a titan card with 2 cores and bye bye 295... do you get what I mean? Plus, the Titan X which is ONE core is not even far behind at all, that says it all. And did you even consider what I said about the rebranding? They are planning to release a new 300 series, and only 2 of the cards are based off of a new chip? And when that release comes out, the 980ti will come straight after... or even before IDK... and hey, dont get me wrong, I WANT AMD to succeed and give out some awesome cards. I want the competition to be hot between amd and nvidia, that's only good for us customers. So I am not saying this just to be an asshole. I truly want AMD to comeback a little on the CPU front as well.. but this is just my opionion. its ok if you dont feel the same
  9. I think nvidia is the better company right now, with their solid cards and drivers (except for the mishap with the 970) and they seem ahead of AMD at the moment. AMD is falling behind with their CPU/APU's compared to intel, they are behind with graphic cards compared to nvidia, using old cards with new branding etc. Their freesync technology isn't working all that well either. The 970 may suffer from the 3.5gb memory bug/or "by design", but it's still a great card that performs well. If you know you won't probably even reach more than 3,5gb vram, then it's no problem. But I think that the 290X with its 4GB and raw power for the cheaper price is the way to go for you anyways. Or at least I think that is what I would have done in this case. Had I not kown that there was an issue with the 970, I would DEFINATELY have gone with the 970, without hesitation. And I am not a fanboy either. I have gone with Radeon for the last few years actually, but recently switched to nvidia and haven't been happier with my GPU's stability.
  10. Well it depends on the game, for instance in GTA V which im into a lot right now, im around 90-100fps. And I'm NOT playing everything at ultra/highest settings. I use the default settings, which is high and very high settings, with no Anti-alising active. With that, I get around 100fps, which is a very good framerate. If I manually put everything on the highest setting possible, veryhigh/ultra, and still leaving anti-alising blank (because it just takes too much performance), I get around 60-80 fps, which FOR ME is too low to feel super-smooth. Again, I have high standards. And remember this is on 2x780's, not 1 card. I really would like an extra gig of graphics memory though. 4GB is the sweetspot nowadays I think. but yeah, that's what I get. In battlefield 4, I can run everything at ultra and anti-alising at maximum too, and still get well above 100fps, in 1440p. So you would be OK with 1 card I think if you dont have the same standards as me ^^ EDIT: I've also noticed that the GRASS QUALITY setting and the SHADOWS setting in GTA V is the most demanding settings on ones system, after anti-alising that is. Anti-alising is always the most demanding setting in any game.
  11. GTX 780, 780Ti, 970. 1440p demands some power to run, it demands more than you might think in that resolution. I use 2x 780 on my Swift monitor which is 1440p. I personally have quite high standards when it comes to graphics settings though. It really comes down to which settings you wanna use. Ultra settings in every game or if you don't care too much about that and can play on low to high then it wont be a big problem at all.
  12. As I said I truly doubt the PSU as anything to do with your problem, but I don't know for sure of course. Somethings seems to be up with running the game on 2 cores, am I right? You can play in windowed mode you say, but for both core to run at the same time you need to play i fullscreen, right? I have Never-ever used a card with to cores on it before, and the lack of help in the thread suggests that not many people know what to do about this. Try posting threads in other forums as well, someone is bound to know of something. But its your call, RMA and/or wait for your buds PSU. I feel I can't help out anymore than this, the drivers was the only thing I thought of that could be a issue. Good luck.
  13. That seems like a wise choice I think. I don't know if your current CPU is a bottleneck as it is, but the 3770K gives you a boost in performance anyhow I don't think the PSU has anything to do with your problem though. I run my two 780's and the rest of the rig (see details in my spoiler) at a 850W PSU. At a test/review of the card, 295X2, on my "main forum", SweClockers, they got a reading of 735W in full load (tested with/in/while gaming), from the wall. And that measures the whole system of components. Have you tried uninstalling all drivers to the card, and cleaning it out with driver sweeper and then reinstalling the latest drivers?
