  1. Cause the Z97 system is currently disassembled, so I would have to build it, install windows, premiere, transfer a project over with footage, and then test it. Don't really want to go through the hassle if it's possible to get some answer first (yeah I'm a little lazy)
  2. Alright, here's the quick rundown. I do a lot of video editing and photo editing as my job. This question is based more on the video editing aspect though. I edit RAW 4k footage that I later throw into Premiere Pro/After Effects where the footage is edited, color graded, effects are added, transitions, etc. I've got two systems right now, a Mac Pro with a Xeon x5690, and a Z97 build with a 4690k. I'm saving up for a new system, but at the moment, which one do you guys think would perform best? Thanks in advance!
  3. I managed to fix it somehow and both routers are working perfectly, no need to respond!
  4. What do you plan on doing with the PC, that's what determines if you really need the i7.
  5. I actually just tried out this app on Google Play called Remotr, it allows you to stream games from your pc to your android/ios/windows tablet or phone and supports controllers. Works pretty well!
  6. I've though about it, but I always come to the conclusion that just buying a bluetooth controller for my phone or tablet is much better and cheaper. If you really want a dedicated android gaming console, the JXD S7800B seems to be somewhat popular.

  8. Uninstall the old graphics drivers and then download the latest ones from AMD's website.
  9. I don't know the exact cause, but did you remove the old drivers beforehand?
  10. You guys have always helped me out, so hopefully you can once again About a year and a half ago we got a Linksys WRT1900ac because the router Verizon provides is just awful in terms of range. We don't know too much about networking, I just saw the router in a MaximumPC magazine and thought it looked good. It has performed very well and can even provide us internet at the bottom of our driveway (A bit slow though, but understandable). The problem is that this router is placed all of the way on the right side of the house on the first floor, and I am all of the way on the left side of the house on the second floor which means with all of the walls in between my Wi-Fi connection is terrible. I have another Asus RT-N66U router that I once tried to setup as a repeater for the Wi-Fi signal but it ended up absolutely killing the speeds which I'm assuming is caused by interference with all of the signals. My question is how can I setup the Asus router to extend the Wi-Fi signal to the left side of the house without it interfering and killing the connection. I have already tried power line adapters but they had issues of their own and I can not run Ethernet cables through the house because we are renting. Hopefully you guys can help out and please try to explain your answer in a way that someone not too knowledgeable in networking can understand. Thanks!
  11. Perfect, thanks guys. I appreciate your help. I guess I'll go online and look for some thermal pads! I'll make sure to get extra just in case.
  12. So I usually don't mess up with these types of things which is why I'm starting a thread on it So my brother gave me his old Dell Studio 1558 that way I could have a laptop for when I need to be somewhere other than my room but it was having overheating issues. I found a guide on how to take the whole thing apart to get to the cpu heatsink and clean it. I followed it and all went well (Cleaned a solid wall of dust on the fan exhaust) and I replaced the cpu thermal paste. I saw this other silver heatsink which I believe is the northbridge and I removed the thermal pad from it and also put thermal paste on it. I've been reading online and apparently this can be a bad thing. This laptop takes a while to take apart and is really annoying to do so, should I put the thermal pad back or will it be fine? I measured the thermal pad and it was a little less than half a mm. Also I turned on the laptop and it booted and worked, but I'm waiting on an ssd to arrive so I cant load windows just yet to test anything. Thanks!
