  1. I feel like everyone needs to be aware the media is horribly misinformed in this story. They quote real current plan rates and cut them by 25% to give an estimate of how much this mandate should cut down on phone bills. That is not how this story should be written. https://assets.ctfassets.net/8cecwr1x4jkf/4qecdQdkcR6Vx2bgYzj8sP/583ea8342e9631b3daac170c4dae005f/BG_EN_Cell-Phone-Bills.pdf here is the actual mandate by the Liberal party. In which they are basing the 25% cut on some kind of assessment that the average pricing is as follows: 2gb plan - $1810 per year/$150 per month, to be cut to $113 per month 5gb plan - $2095 per year/$174.50 per month, to be cut to $131 per month These are for phone plans. I dunno who is actually paying 150 bucks for a 2gb plan? Cell providers are posting on their websites that they already not only already meet these price cuts but GREATLY exceed them. $50 for a 2gb plan seems high? Well actually we deliver 56% better savings than the Liberal party’s mandate! Isn’t that amazing?! This mandate is doing absolutely nothing to cut phone bills and never will. It’s just giving cell providers marketing to make their plans as seem affordable.
  2. Best Buy, and pretty much all retailers I know, will not give a full refund for an opened video game. If opened, Best Buy will only exchange it for an identical items, some stores give store credit. Full refund if the product is unopened, though. Which makes the "sealed" part very relevant.
  3. Pete Hines is claiming now that if you return a sealed game to Best Buy and they give you a full refund, they don't put it back on the shelf and sell it as new. https://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/1028323124453027840
  4. I just bought the Dell one. There's some really in-depth reviews for it that are pretty great. Dell is currently selling it on their own site at discount and you can use the 10%OFFMONITOR promo code for even better deal.
  5. I'm in the same boat as you OP. The 2 monitors I'm currently looking into are ASUS MX279H and AOC I2757FH. Both are 1080p 27" IPS displays with low input lag. [edit] Looked some more and found that the Dell U2417H is a very good option. 23.8 inch IPS monitor is great for 1080p. It's flicker-free and low input-lag.
  6. If you're going with IPS and you don't mind going DisplayPort, Dell is about to have a deal on the u2412m for Cyber Monday. Only downside is it has no HDMI. However, this monitor is 1200p, not 1080. since it's 16:10.
  7. Forgot to mention my display. I only plan to use this in 1080p with a TV as a monitor (60fps max is good enough for me!). Might pick up a computer monitor at some point way down the road. I'm pretty set on a 500gb SSD. I like having many games on my PC and don't want to run out of space. I feel like I would fill a 250gb drive too quickly. I get the feeling from these suggestions that I definitely need a better PSU. I used a PSU calculator and it suggested the 3.3v and 5v should have a combined wattage of 120-130w depending on the amount of drives and USB devices I'll be using. The one I selected has a 130 maximum while ones suggested here are 110 or 120. Would this end up being a problem? I might end up having up to 4 HDD at some point, and I currently use 4 USB 2.0 ports. The Oculus Rift will reportedly need 3 USB 3 ports and 1 USB 2 port.
  8. My current computer just isn't handling the newer games anymore and I'm ready to pull the trigger on a new build. This PC will be used for everything I do. So web-browsing, some streaming, a little video editing, and lots of gaming. I'm also very likely to pick up a VR headset next year. This is all in Canadian prices: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/h7Fmbv I plan on keeping the 2 HDD from my current rig for storage, and I got an awesome Fractal Design Define R5 case for Christmas. I've never overclocked before but I'll probably do so on the CPU if it's worthwhile (is it?). [edit] I'll be using a single 1080p 42" TV. Might add a computer monitor at some point.
  9. Coolermaster approved my request for a fan replacement. Thanks for the advice though, I will keep note of the fans suggested here for future reference.
  10. As I have been dreading, the fan for my Hyper 2012 EVO has started making the infamous clicking noise that is commonly reported. This is unacceptable as I sleep 6 feet from this computer, or to be more accurate, I am prevented from sleeping because of this noise! I need a replacement and I'm not sure what to replace it with. Also, I am just barely still under warranty. It's insured for 2 years and I purchased it on October 11th 2013. I have submitted a part request to CM, but I have no idea if CoolerMaster will be willing to replace the fan due to the clicking noise. Is it worth going through this process or should I just order a different fan? Would love to hear any advice.
  11. Freedos? I said Cheetos, not Fritos ! [edit] Sorry, couldn't resist the urge to make a Breaking Bad reference. If this is an objectionable post please delete.
  12. I'm gunna go ahead and assume Canadians will be paying $500+ for this peripheral.
  13. wtf? August 20th is my birthday. I share a birthday with Linus? Happy Birthday to us!
  14. I live in the Fraser Valley, so I'm pretty close by. I'm not a huge fan though so I don't think I'd have much to talk about.
  15. I've heard that, but I've never really noticed the input lag and it doesn't bother me. I use my computer in bed, so I don't like cables. Also, in my experience the cable always gets in the way or impedes my movement.
