I like that water cooler the most. As useful as having my computer double as a space heater is, controlling CPU temps is important for squeezing out every drop (get it?) of performance and longevity.

Hey guys! I know Ting is a sponsor of the WAN show, and I remember them talking about a promo code, but I can't for the life of me find the code again. Can somebody link me to a video where Linus does the Ting spot? Thanks!

@Bubblewhale I honestly don't think I can go back to a HDD after using an SSD for years. Plus I don't use much storage anyway. Questions: 1. Why the i5 instead of the i3? 2. Why the 280 over the 760? EDIT I don't even think I can keep the HDD cages in there with a decent graphics card because of length. @Koffehh Thanks! Yeah, I run an 840 in my laptop. That thing is amazing. What's the difference between these two SSDs though?

Hey guys! I'm going to be building my first computer soon (when funds become available). I want something easy to move, so I would like to go with the Mini ITX or Micro ATX form factor. Also I want to keep it under $800 to leave room for some peripherals. The most demanding thing I plan on playing is BF4 or Skyrim, but I am willing to turn down the settings a bit to keep it playable if need be. Here's what I came up with (US prices and shipping): PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i3-4130 3.4GHz Dual-Core Processor ($109.99 @ NCIX US) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($24.99 @ Newegg) Motherboard: Asus H81I-PLUS Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard ($77.99 @ Mwave) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($72.00 @ Newegg) Storage: A-Data Premier Pro SP600 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($99.99 @ Newegg) Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 2GB WINDFORCE Video Card ($229.99 @ Newegg) Case: BitFenix Prodigy (Black) Mini ITX Tower Case ($69.99 @ Amazon) Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply ($29.99 @ Newegg) Total: $714.93 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-09-01 16:04 EDT-0400 I had some questions about this build though. 1. Would everything fit? I plan to remove the HDD cages. 2. What fans do I need, if any extra ones? 3. Have I committed any terrible PC building newbie sins?

I agree; if you're going to do parallel programming, more cores would be fantastic. And I also use an SSD in my laptop and would highly recommend getting one. SSDs can help a LOT with loading certain large programming environments (I'm looking at you, Matlab and Eclipse).

I'm third year CS and I have a Sandy Bridge i3 from high school and it runs like a champ. It was $500 three years ago. I'm not quite sure what you'd NEED an i5 for... Just get something well built that you can afford.

Bravely Default has sold over 1 million units
Chansey replied to TopWargamer's topic in Console Gaming
If you are thinking about it, do it. It is awesome! First game I've ever played of this genre too; I was very pleasantly surprised. -
Ordered my 3DS, which game should I get FIRST?!?
Chansey replied to sqwidee's topic in Console Gaming
I'm biased since I'm a Pokemon. Also, Bravely Default is a great game, but t gets extremely repetitive. You really can't understand what I'm talking about until you play it through. I couldn't play it for months because of the repetitiveness at the end. It's still worth getting in my opinion.- 19 replies

People need to be fined for using literally like this. I see people do this literally all the time.

In state is WAY cheaper if you choose to go to a public school. Depending on what state, you could still get far away if that's your goal. Please don't choose a school based on that though!

Here's an example of Lian-Li It doesn't even list prices, but they do have purchasing options in Australia.

I agree. I thought it would be extremely awkward to hold when I saw it, but it didn't take long to get used to at all. OP: Everyone I know who has a 3DS XL loves it. As others have said, try hunting around for some deals and I think it's a great buy.

And they told us it looked stupid! It Kinda does

I got a 2DS and am very happy with it. However, I mainly play Pokemon and random RPG games; I don't know how good Super Smash Bros would be.
